Video: NBA 2K11 Free Stereoscopic 3D Update Hits January 16th

211w ago - 2K Games Community Manager Ronnie Singh has announced news and a video today of a free NBA 2K11 Stereoscopic 3D update that will arrive on January 16, 2011.

To quote: For the few of you who have been holding out for a copy or have put your NBA 2K11 on the shelf for a couple weeks, I just wanted to give you heads-up about the upcoming game update.

Especially anyone who was lucky enough to pick up a stereoscopic 3D TV over the holidays.

For those of you who missed out on the 3D retail exclusive at Best Buy released back in November, this Sunday, January 16th, we will be offering a free title update to your NBA 2K11 game that will allow PlayStation 3 users, who have a 3D television and online connectivity, to experience NBA 2K11 in 3D!

Just pop your game in and it will update before the title screen. From there, you can turn on your TV's 3D capabilities, grab those awesome 3D glasses, and experience the NBA game you love with an extra layer of depth (an extra dimension even!) to what many have hailed as the deepest, most immersive, and best sports game of this generation.

Many have been lucky enough to play the Best Buy 3D exclusive extensively over the past couple of months. This has led to the question of what...

European PSN Game Store Updates for January 12, 2011

211w ago - SCEE's Ross McGrath of the PlayStation Store Team has posted up this weeks European PSN Game Store updates today, as follows:

Welcome back all, I hope everyone has been settling back into work okay and everyone's sticking to their New Year's resolutions!

Another fairly small update this week with a few highlights I wanted to point out. After last week's sudden removal from the schedule, the Angry Birds mini does finally make it onto the PSN Store this week, so make sure you give those pigs what for.

Also, we have a genuine PSone Classic in the form of Tomb Raider Chronicles - yes, we now have the first and last games in the PSone Tomb Raider series... the middle ones are on their way soon too. And don't forget that this week we are providing you with the DC Universe Online subscriptions for one, three or six months of game time, so when your free month runs out we've got you covered.

On PSP, Buzz: The Ultimate Music Quiz hits for all you would be musical masterminds to test your knowledge and we have a small selection of permanent price reductions on some great PSP titles too.

Also a quick bit of service information for you:

• The final content list for the January Sales will go up in a separate blog post on Monday (like we did for...

Sony on Recent PS3 Hacks, PSN Security Updates Incoming

212w ago - Today Sony has finally spoken out against the recent PS3 Hacks stating they plan to fix the security breaches through a series of PlayStation Network updates including fraudulently unlocked PS3 Trophies.

To quote from ComputerAndVideoGames.com (linked above): "Earlier this week, hackers completely tore apart the console's few remaining lines of defence against running unauthorised code, and subsequently released the first custom PS3 firmware.

Sony has remained quiet on the issue until now, having just told our friends at [Register or Login to view links]: "We are aware of this, and are currently looking into it. We will fix the issues through network updates, but because this is a security issue, we are not able to provide you with any more details."

Hacking groups don't believe this will be possible though, telling the BBC: The complete console is compromised...

European Game Store PSN Updates for January 5, 2011

212w ago - Today SCEE's Ross McGrath of the PlayStation Store Team has shared the first European PSN game store updates for the new year!

To quote: This week we've got a relatively small update for our first week back but with plenty to keep you interested.

There's a new batch of Specials, including either flavour of fiendishly competitive card game UNO (PS3 or PSP) for only 99 Euro cents. Who can say no to that? Also of note, Legends of War: Patton's Campaign, the very well received strategy PSP title released in the last part of 2010 has been permanently reduced by 33% - I urge you all to check out the reviews online and give it a try.

2K get in on the digital BD action with Borderlands hitting the Store this week and Ubisoft bring us the much anticipated Assassin's Creed: Ascendance.

More Trinity Universe DLC and absolutely tons of Rock Band tracks (including a substantial free track pack) round off our add-ons.

If anyone is still pondering whether to grab Kung-Fu LIVE, Virtual Air Guitar have answered the call and supplied you with a demo to see if you've got what it takes to become a Kung-Fu master.

The PSP NEOGEO Station gets a few more of the missing titles, including the brilliant Samurai Shodown, we've got two new minis and there's...
