Quartermann: More MGS PSP, More Sonic Games

50°
355w ago - Plus, remember THQ's N64 wrestler No Mercy? It's coming back.

It's Friday and we're all still reeling from the news that NPD numbers won't be gracing us in the weeks ahead, but as the latest issue of EGM falls into subscriber hands, the Quartermann's able to bring you the latest rumors. And lest we forget, Quartermann was right on the money about Bionic Commando.
This month, an old rumor resurfaces in a new form, as BioShock is apparently back on for PlayStation 3. Previously, it'd been speculated that Microsoft tied up 2K Games' aquatic adventure as an exclusive, but there's a change in the tide, as the world of Rapture may be Cell-enabled in 2008, after all.

And while Metal Gear fans are pouting over the most recent Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots delay, Kojima Productions hasn't been snoozing about taking the series in other directions. While everyone else is taking their franchises to Nintendo DS, Metal Gear is sticking to PSP, with a brand-new (that's not a spin-off) game headed to the portable, this time taking Snake back to the early days of his career.

We'll leave you with two last tidbits. One, THQ's WWF: No Mercy for the Nintendo 64 is coming back via the WiiWare service with completely updated rosters. Two, the lackluster performance of Sonic the Hedgehog hasn't deterred...

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune - Clues Update

200°
355w ago - About a week ago Sony released an interesting and mysterious website to help promote Uncharted: Drakes Fortune for the PlayStation 3. We made a post about it and since then we have obtained two more interesting related pieces.

First off, a Flickr page has a collection of light sensitive posters and one of them features Sir Francis Drake. The words, as well as the facial features on the poster change in different lighting. Check out the picture below and the other on the Flickr page.

We also found another very interesting clue which is a video documentary by Elena Fisher that was posted on YouTube. Elena Fisher is a sidekick in the Uncharted game that will be availble later in November. Check it out the documentary below:

We will keep you updated if we find any other clues, feel free to send us a link if you are able to find anything too!

PAIN Update for PS3

50°
355w ago - It's me, Travis, again. You know, the Senior Producer of PAIN. I want to thank everyone for responding so well to my first PLAYSTATION Blog post. It was the first time I had the opportunity to explain PAIN to more than a few people at a time.

It's always hard to describe a game that doesn't play like anything currently on the market. That's a good thing. No, it's a GREAT thing. Now that we are close to releasing the first PAIN Theme (Downtown), I get to sit back and enjoy other PLAYSTATION 3 gamers bringing the PAIN. Wait... no I don't.

PAIN is an evolving game and how it grows will largely depend on what people like you want to see (and play). I wish that I could tell you what plans we have for the next theme, but in the meantime, I can tell you that some of your responses to my first blog post made my arguments to management more "convincing."

Imagine me screaming, "LOOK HOW MANY PEOPLE SAY WE SHOULD SHOOT (THIS PERSON) OUT OF A LAUNCHER! Please go make it happen!"

To know me is to know that this is totally something I would say. I'm really not well, you know. I am 6'3" and Super-Sized - this is sooo not a pretty picture.

ANYWAYS... I digress.

The reason I am posting now is because we made a new trailer for PAIN. We are close...
