MLB 08 may be the most features-packed baseball game ever

372w ago - Seriously, Sony's upcoming MLB 08 may have the longest list of features we've ever seen for a game, regardless of genre. The massive fact sheet released today has us scratching our heads in bewilderment, so much so that we simply had to provide you the entire list (after the break). Highlights include the ability to add your own custom soundtrack, online integration with MLB.com, and online stats tracking that will match players with similarly skilled opponents.

The game will be available on PS3, PS2 and PSP this Spring.

Road to The Show 2.0 - To deliver the closest experience possible, next to actually trying to make it in the Majors, MLB 08 THE SHOW introduces a more immersive Road to The Show mode. As gamers attempt to make a starting line-up in the Big Leagues, playing on both offense and defense from a custom-created player's perspective, a more robust dynamic goal system and a new career advancement system will determine when a player is eligible for a promotion. Now, advancement goals related to the player's attribute target level will be provided to get the player to that next level and those goals are based on the player's attribute level and statistical performance. Also, Road to The Show 2.0 adds a new statistics screen that will display a player's current seasons' statistics. Additionally,...

Internet tricked by fake GT5P score (Gran Turismo 5 Prologue)

372w ago - Reports that Japanese games magazine Famitsu has given Gran Turismo 5: Prologue a near-perfect score have proven to be false.

News broke yesterday that Weekly Famitsu had given GT5: Prologue - which is due to be released in its native Japan tomorrow - a highly impressive score of 39/40.

However, it now seems these claims were actually a load of porky pies, with Famitsu itself having not reviewed the game at all.

The source of the score appears to be an individual who wished to fool users on the popular NeoGAF forums by making up a load of review scores and news and trying to claim that it was the contents of this week's issue of Famitsu.

As is the way with such things, however, the rest of the internet got hold of the story and ran with it before checking whether it was accurate or not. And as it transpired, it wasn't.

Of course, this doesn't mean that Polyphony's racer isn't going to be amazing - just that we'll all have to wait a little longer to find out how good it really is.

In the meantime, one of NeoGAF's forum users has posted a separate thread with the actual contents of this week's Famitsu, which you can check out here.

Eight minutes of UT III - PS3

372w ago - Unreal Tournament III has finally hit PS3 in US after months of confusion over it's release, and we can confirm it's pretty bloody good.

Earlier this morning we put the PS3 and PC versions of the game side-by-side to check out the difference between them. The bottom line, though, is that it looks and plays beautifully on Sony's fire-breathing beast.

The three videos below give you a taster of the awesome variety in level design. First up is a close-quarters deathmatch map called Sanctuary, set in an oriental-style location with an outdoor courtyard.

We also give Vehicle CTF a bash in the gorgeous Suspense stage - a medium-sized arena (in UT III terms) on a giant bridge with the two bases at either ends.

Then it's onto the new Warfare mode on the absolutely enormous Avalanche level, which is so large you could get 200 players on it, let alone 16. Two huge open snowfields are connected by a central cavern.

In Warfare mode, in case you don't know, your objective is to capture a series of nodes (bases) around the battlefield before destroying the enemy's main base power core.

Go take a look! Now! Videos can be seen here.

Another Gran Turismo 5: Prologue video!
