Eternal Sonata: Characters broadened for PS3

369w ago - Microsoft fans got to play Eternal Sonata far before their rival PlayStation fans. They were given the opportunity to enjoy this masterpiece of a title in all of its glory. Anybody who has played it would agree that is was not only phenomenal, but also unforgettable. The story was perfect, the art was brilliant, and the score was absolutely mesmerizing. Now it's our turns.

Great things come to those who wait. Eternal Sonata is slated to hit PS3 shelves this year and it's going to be a title to remember. What do the Sony faithful get for the long wait? Two extra playable characters that were mere NPC's for the 360.

Those who have waited for this title will be given the chance to utilize not only Prince Crescendo, but his lovely bride, Serenade. This is complimented with more story sequences as well.

All of these may have been news that was commonly known, however, we have screenshots of the characters in action.

Madden 08 on PS3 finally gets patched like Xbox 360 version

369w ago - According to PastaPadre, the Madden 08 patch for the PS3 has been cleared for certification by Sony and will be released sometime on the 8th January.

This is the same patch that the Xbox 360 version received back in November, and includes a fumble fix and more bug fixes.

To quote: This is the same patch the 360 received late in November and addresses the following issues:

Fumble Fix - Reduced fumble chances in certain situations. This has been tested thoroughly and we feel that people will be happy with a more realistic (and more fun!) number of fumbles. This was priority number 1 for us.

DB Reactions- changes to the way that DBs play man coverage. Defenders in man coverage won't be able to react to passes that they cannot see. This should make it easier to throw against man coverage.

Favre "Moonwalk"- I love the names that you guys come up with for issues such as this one. You can rest assured that you won't see Farve (or any QB) dancing toward the sideline anymore.

Hook Zone Flip Bug- I saw a post on a community forum talking about this bug and it turns out the fix was very minimal risk. You can now flip plays with hook zones without the players leaving their zones.

Franchise - Fixed NCAA import issue where players would turn 26

Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 framerate varies based on action scenes

369w ago - According to PunchJump, Sony demonstrated MGS4 on the PS3 at CES 2008 today. The latest build reportedly held a frame rate of 30 frames per second and 60 frames per second depending on the amount of action displayed on screen.

To quote: The show floor demonstration showcased the outdoor warzone featured last Aug. at the E for All Expo in Los Angeles.

When the on-screen visuals held less action and focused on nearby buildings the action locked at 60 frames per second. However, when bullet fire, grenades, smoke, and debris filtered the screen, the action fell to 30 frames per second.

The frame rate flux was barely noticable, however, at a higher frame rate, textures held much sharper detail.

The non-playable cinematic portions of the title were locked at 60 frames per second. The movie showcased at the show floor featured Old Snake speaking to Otacon through a remote device.

In Oct., Konami delayed the title to Q2 of 2008 to make further improvements to the quality of the game.

Sony says MGS4 a PS3 exclusive

369w ago - Sony have been demonstrating Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots at CES 2008. They have also been showing off some MGS4 facts.

One of the facts listed is that the game is exclusive for the PS3.

Will the Xbox 360 port rumors ever die? Probably not, but at CES 2008, Sony' maintains you'll have to pick up their machine to finish Snake's journey. :P

Transfer Blu-ray Movies From PS3 To PSP

369w ago - Sony announced at this year's Consumer Electronics Show that future Blu-ray titles will contain a portable copy of the movie/show embedded on the disc encoded specifically for the PlayStation Portable.

Consumers will able to boot up their PlayStation 3, pop in a Blu-ray disc, then simply copy the portable version of the disc to their PS3. From there, PSP owners can transfer the portable copy over to their handheld device.

It's good to see that movie studios are finding ways to take advantage of the extra storage space on Blu-ray discs. Hopefully we'll see this feature adopted by many new BD titles in the near future.
