9 Minute LittleBigPlanet Demonstration on PS3

368w ago - Here we have a new walk-through of LittleBigPlanet, showing the lovable emotions of a dino "Sackboy", how you can give your creations away as prizes, and the game's community aspect.

LittleBigPlanet is charming. The ability to create your own physics based levels and share them among the Playstation community is an exciting prospect.

In this following Gamespot video you can see the world map where you can share your levels with the Playstation Community. The ease of finding other's levels and the ability to narrow the world map so you can share your creations with particular locations is pretty sweet.

Furthermore, Media Molecule explain how you can give away your creations as a prize. The more intricate the object, the harder you'll want to make your level so only the select few can win it. This takes creating, sharing and playing to another level.

More LittleBigPlanet footage is to come tomorrow, hopefully showing off the "Play" feature of the game.

Over 70 Weapons in MGS4: New English Demo Footage

368w ago - Kojima revealed at TGS that there would be over 70 weapons in Metal Gear Solid 4, and what's more they would be customisable. With CES going on right now, we are getting new footage of some of these weapons. Watching these five new videos from the MGS4 English demo, it's almost safe to say that Kojima has done it again.

Kojima continues to announce new features, such as being able to play the game in First Person Mode, suggesting that there isn't anything Snake can't do. Furthermore, with over 70 weapons, MGS4 is going to be one of the most feature full games to come out in 2008.

In this following video from youtube you can see the epic weapon shown in the title image - the rocket launcher, "Javelin".

MGS4 will have the most diverse array of weapons yet seen in a Metal Gear game, not only because of the sheer amount, but that you can modify each weapon extensively.

As you get hold of new gear, you can add scopes, flashlights, shotguns, grenade launchers and more. This gear can be added to your weapons on pre-determined mounts to create something that will help you get through your diverse enemy encounters.

The enemy animation and hit reactions continue to impress, as can be seen in this recent captured video:

Sony's challenge for 2008: Take on software companies

368w ago - Sony has shored up the problems in its electronics, and will concentrate in 2008 on bringing more video content to its devices and improving its software, said CEO Sir Howard Stringer.

"We will see if we can enter the battle against the software companies. This is probably the year we need to demonstrate that," Stringer said during a meeting with reporters at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas Monday morning.

One of the first examples of this strategy will be an expansion of the PlayStation Network. The network now is mostly used by gamers. Sony wants to turn it into a platform to deliver video, too. Sony will hold a press conference in two months to discuss changes to the PlayStation 3.

The world, of course, will wait and see. Consumers and analysts for the past several years have complained about the functionality of the software in Sony devices. The company, along with nearly everyone in the electronics industry, has also been trying to bridge the gap between the PC and the TV for years. But progress seems to be occurring across the industry. Microsoft says it has put nearly a million intelligent set-top boxes into homes, and Sharp and Samsung announced new TVs that serve up headlines and weather from Web sites.

Overall, Stringer seemed to be in an upbeat mood. A year...
