325w ago - Famitsu has acquired the first ever screenshots of a new horror title called Rainy Woods which is headed to the PS3 and X-Box 360.
According to IGN, the game takes place in the American west, with FBI agents and midgets. Rainy Woods is the setting of the story, which are, we presume, woods that are inclined to rain. Awkwardly enough, a murder takes place nearby and people think the "Raincoat Killer" has returned. Rain is a theme. The townsfolk call you in, an FBI agent who has a multiple personality disorder. As you travel the giant city and learn about the murder, you learn that something less-than-human is involved. Expect to chop up and shoot various critters of evil.

325w ago - It seems I've come across more evidence to support a recent rumor that details Sony's plan to launch a "low price" Playstation 3.
EMS Now, a site dedicated to monitoring the global electronic manufacturing industry, posted a piece regarding the news that Hon Hai will begin to manufacture PS3s. The site, admittedly, is boring to read much of the time, but, if you pay close attention to the facts mentioned in their stories, occasionally you'll find little nuggets of information such as the one below:
Insiders in the sector said that Sony has cut the selling price of PS3 consoles, and, at the mean time, planned to launch low-price models, with ASUSTeK Computer Inc. and Hon Hai Precision to supply the models.
The rumor originated when a "reliable source" mentioned Sony's changing up their Playstation offerings for the Holiday Season like so:
$499.99 for the 80GB Playstation 3, currently $599.99
$399.99 for the 40GB Playstation 3, currently nonexistent
Spider-Man 3 on Blu-ray included with at least one of the PS3 packages
$99.99 for the Playstation 2, currently $129.99
$399.99 for a fully functional Blu-ray player and next-gen high def gaming console? Not bad, not bad at all... if true.
325w ago - PS3 owners get another major RPG! Namco Bandai may have jumped the gun a bit in announcing Eternal Sonata for the PS3, but we weren't quite ready to consider the game confirmed as multiplatform until hearing comment directly from its parent company across the Pacific. That confirmation came today.
The PS3 version of Eternal Sonata, operating under its Japanese title of Trusty Bell Chopan no Yume, will be appearing at Bandai Namco's Tokyo Game Show booth next week, the company announced today through its Tokyo Game Show special site. The game will be shown in video-only form. A Japanese release is planned for some time in 2008.
Other PS3 games planned for the show include playable Time Crisis 4 and video trailers for Nobi Nobi Boy and Soul Calibur 4.
We'll have full coverage of the Bandai Namco booth starting next week on the 20th.
325w ago - EA is leaping on the survival horror bandwagon. Reported on Game Informer's website, the game is called Dead Space.
It's said that "Fans of the cult-classic film Event Horizon and straight-up horror aficionados aren't going to want to miss this one", and the cover of an upcoming Game Informer magazine featuring the game declares, "In the far reaches of space, humanity brings to light a forgotten alien scourge. Can one man cut through the darkness?"
A call to EA's UK arm turned up nothing extra, although it confirmed the game's existence and said details are to be released soon.
