Call Of Duty 4 New Multiplayer Gametypes Coming Soon?

50°
300w ago - Four new game modes could be added to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The news was struck on Robert Bowling blog, Director of Communications/Community Manager for Infinity Ward.

Here are the details of the new game modes from the blog:

"Thanks to everyone who commented, sent in emails, or contacted me via other means; including the epic presentation I received via the mail this morning containing an entire breakdown of a new game mode complete with a full-size fold out poster (thanks Ian!!).

I received a lot of great suggestions and feedback regarding new playlists you guys would like to see, and this weekend I'm going to be hosting a series of private matches in Call of Duty 4 to test them out. So if you haven't already, be sure to drop me a message on Xbox Live / PSN as I'll be cleaning off room on my friends list and inviting anyone interested to help out this weekend.

Some of the gametypes we're going to test out this weekend are:

Bare-bones Team Deathmatch

No more excuses. No more blaming Martyrdom or Juggernaut for your lack of skills and kills. Bare Bones Team Deathmatch eliminates the excuses and takes it back to basics with standard Team Deathmatch with no perks, no kill streak rewards. Just you, your skill, and your weapons.

Call of Duty: World at War Interview with Tech Specs and More!

100°
300w ago - PCGH: What will be the base technology of Call of Duty: World at War? Do you as a new developer write a brand new engine from scratch of do you reuse many parts of the technology of Call of Duty 4? Why do you decide program a new engine/modify the existing technology?

Cesar Stastny: Treyarch has worked on various games during the last decade so we had our own engines, including the one on which all the Spiderman games were built. For Call of Duty: World at War, we chose the original Infinity Ward Call of Duty4: Modern Warfare engine as the base technology. Call of Duty 4 is widely considered the best cross platform game to date (Xbox 360/PS3/PC), so it is logical to consider its engine as the best next generation cross platform as well.

We chose it for its excellent lighting and game scripting. We enhanced the existing Call of Duty 4 engine with visual improvements, new effects, cooperative multiplayer, as well as using Activision's proprietary DemonWare technology for online, lobbies, matchmaking on PC and PS3 platforms which do not come with the equivalent of Xbox Live.

PCGH: Call of Duty 4 was developed cross platform and there were no major differences between the console and the PC version as far as visuals and other technical aspects is concerned. Will this be the case for Call of Duty:...

Do we really need another Burnout?

350°
300w ago - Let's face it people... Criterion is churning out more new updates than Spore's Creature Creator has been churning out monsters. With the new and long awaited Cagney update available for the Xbox 360 and PS3, the upcoming Davis update in August, and the Eastwood update in the Fall as well as talk about another update offering planes in Paradise City - one question has come to mind.

Criterion has taken a chance and succeed with their "Massive" updates that makes Grand Theft Auto IV's "Episodic Content" look like Oblivion's ever so useless Horse armor. Adding several gameplay additions like new gametypes to motorcycles, outer islands, and maybe even planes. It seems like they gotten things down good enough where they don't even need to release a Burnout 6. There hasn't even been much talk, speculation or even rumors on a Burnout 6.

These upcoming updates are surely promising as well. They can turn a game from a simple car crashing arcade game into a huge expansive game with the addition of motorcycles, a night/day cycle, a new island, and possibly planes. Transforming Paradise into a game that can reach more players of other genres: like the flight sim crowd.

Another important question comes to mind as well. If Criterion can continuously update their game to add more aspects to it's gameplay:...
