Video: Sony Reveals Sleeping Dogs Wakes on PS3 Tomorrow

100°
107w ago - Senior Producer Jeff O'Connell has revealed on Sony's PlayStation Blog today that Sleeping Dogs officially wakes on PS3 tomorrow!

To quote: It's been a long journey. Even now, it's hard to believe that Sleeping Dogs launches tomorrow.

It's a little odd given how the game is primarily a single player experience, but I think it's as we start seeing the online leaderboards fill up that the reality sets in: we made it.

It's obviously not the end of our time with the world we spent over five years piecing together, but it definitely marks a turning point - the time when we release a game once named Black Lotus, then True Crime: Hong Kong and finally Sleeping Dogs to you.

From here on Sleeping Dogs isn't living inside a bubble, but instead exists as a part of gaming's ever-growing cultural canvas. How big a part is in your hands - rest assured we have poured our hearts and souls into making our protagonist Wei's world one we feel you will enjoy.

Up to now we've seen a lot of focus on the systems we have crafted - the combat, the driving, the social hub - but we're most excited to see how people receive the story. Wei Shen's triad odyssey is the glue that holds all these other tasty parts together.

With it, Sleeping Dogs goes from being a collection...

107w ago - Sony EX-Dev Producer Ian Pickles has announced today that John Cleese is the voice of PS Vita's Smart As with details below.

To quote: My name is Ian Pickles and I am the Producer from XDev Studio Europe working on PlayStation Vita's all-new social brain training experience, Smart As.

I'm here with some exciting news to share. I am delighted to confirm that John Cleese, the English actor, comedian, writer and film producer is injecting his unique personality and sophisticated sense of humor into the game as the voice of Smart As.

Best known for his hilarious antics as a member of the Monty Python comedy troupe, it's great to be able to confirm the comedy legend's participation in the game.

His instantly recognizable voice and distinctive style deliver intelligent and witty narration during the game, always encouraging and sometimes teasing you to improve every time you play.

Regardless of how smart you are, John's creative and comedic dialogue will keep you hooked as you play to improve your Brain Power score and pursue your goal to outsmart the world.

The decision to approach John to work on the game came about a couple of months ago. We were incredibly happy with the game - the looks, presentation and gameplay are second to none, but we felt...

Sony Goes Hands-On with Persona 4 Golden for PlayStation Vita

250°
107w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein went hands-on today with Persona 4 Golden for the PlayStation Vita video game portable console.

To quote: There's never been a better time to be a fan of the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series.

Persona 4 Arena has just arrived on our shores this week, taking the venerable RPG franchise into 2D fighting game territory (and successfully so).

This fall, one of the PS2′s most highly regarded games is coming to PS Vita with Persona 4 Golden. Even if you're new to the series, as I am, there's never been a better time to get into it.

As a recent inductee into the Persona universe (via Persona 3 Portable on PS Vita), I eagerly took up [Register or Login to view links] on the opportunity to sample a work-in-progress edition of Persona 4 Golden last week.

The first thing you're likely to notice about P4G is how good this game looks. It's not surprising that a PS Vita game would look better than a PS2 or PSP game, but the sharpness and contrast of the visuals on "dat screen" are dramatically better than anything the series has seen.

While a lot of the static character art isn't new (especially that of the Personae, which are largely the same as in P3), the crispness of the screen had me thinking...
