Assassin's Creed For PS3 Seeing Lock Ups,

250°
335w ago - Irate PlayStation 3 owners are reporting a host of technical problems with their copies of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed, writing of frame rate problems, screen tearing, geometry clipping and game-stopping lock ups on the official game forums.

Most reports from those affected by "white screens of death" are writing that they're using firmware 2.0, specifying so at the request of official Ubisoft forum managers. In addition to a thread dedicated to the PS3's freezing issues, a consolidated bug/glitch thread is currently receiving plenty of responses.

Similar postings have appeared on the official PlayStation 3 and Gamespot forums, with a few Kotaku tipsters warning us of the game's graphical and loading glitches. We're waiting to hear further information from Ubisoft, but would urge caution and research for potential Assassin's Creed buyers.

Naughty Dog interested in PlayStation Network

50°
335w ago - Expected Uncharted's "medals" to be integrated into Home, the PlayStation Network has opened up a lot of interesting opportunities for developers, says Naughty Dog's Evan Wells. In a live text interview with our sister site, Eurogamer.net, the company's co-president said that PSN was definitely something they were interested in.

"I think it could come in handy during some of the transitional roll over periods between games if there hasn't been enough pre-production work done to get started on the next big project," Wells explained.

Although Wells did not elaborate, Naughty Dog could use PSN to provide downloadable content for their latest game, Uncharted, even while working on a sequel. The developer also included medal points in Uncharted, expecting that they could eventually be attached to Home. He said that it was hard to say whether or not players would be waiting longer between Naughty Dog releases during this hardware generation.

"Even on the PS2 we took two years to develop Jak 1 and 2. It wasn't until later in the generation that we had enough tech built up that we could get the production down to one year. I imagine things will be similar this time around."

When asked whether or not the company planned to work on PSP titles, Wells negated the idea. "We want to focus our...

Sneak Preview of New PS3 Ads

50°
335w ago - From Kim Nguyen (Marketing Manager): Hello everyone. When we last spoke, I posted some ads for PS3 third-party heavy hitters Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty 4. Well, as promised, we have more up our sleeves and have a couple more spots to debut for you all before they officially air the week of November 19th.

We've brought back the same pulsating music track (Saliva's "Ladies and Gentlemen") from our PS3 brand spots and feature games from our 3rd party friends like Burnout Paradise, WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008, Madden NFL 08, Time Crisis 4, Assassin's Creed, Haze, and, what you've all been asking for ... Metal Gear Solid 4 from Konami.

Finally, one little housekeeping note. You all must be wondering why the TV spots aren't on the PLAYSTATION Store. We're not just blowing smoke, they will be soon. We need to secure download rights from Saliva. It's really great to see how much you guys love these spots and want to download them. And as Peter Dille said in his recent post, we're truly flattered. So, while the legal eagles work out the details, we hope you can still enjoy the spots here on the blog.
