PS3 Media Server Beta Update v1.20 Build 412 is Now Available

1300°
185w ago - After quite awhile of being away, it looks like shagrath and the community have updated PS3 Media Server to Beta Update v1.20 Build 412.

Download: PS3 Media Server Beta Update v1.20 Build 412 (Windows) / PS3 Media Server Beta Update v1.20 Build 412 (Linux)

Note: As this is a PC side application, you do not need a JailBroken PS3 to use it with your PlayStation 3 entertainment system.

Recent build changes include the following:

• Double check for Mplayer existence and font generation (useful for latest Sherpya's revisions)
• Ability to shutdown DLNAorgPN automatic support for a given renderer (see DLNAOrgPN attribute in the renderer conf file)
• Some hack stuff for mpeg2 remux on Bravia TVs
• RAW generation fixed
• Custom mencoder quality settings for a given renderer

Not sure what changed in 412 specifically though, all I can find is "small change" (suspect a bug fix).

185w ago - PlayStation Home Online Community Specialist Locust_Star has revealed today that this weeks content includes Inuyasha, Save the Ta-Tas, a Community Theater update and more!

To quote: This week brings yet another update full of exclusive content, Home-grown community programs, and special events into the ever-evolving world of PlayStation Home.

To start, we will be airing the Episode 3 of the PS Nation videocast in our mega-popular PlayStation Home Community Theater. Glenn Percival - PS Nation main man - sent along this teaser blurb to promote their newest episode, showing this Thursday only in PlayStation Home.

"In this episode we discuss some truly great PSN titles including 'Tales from Space: About a Blob' (which packs awesome cooperative action), 'Kung-Fu Live' (which puts you IN the game using the PlayStation Eye), and 'Slam Bolt Scrappers' (which offers equal parts insanity and hilarity).

The feature segment focuses on 'Joe Danger' from Hello Games and, to top it all off, you'll get to see just how 'old school' Jim...

185w ago - Sony PlayStation Store Senior Manager Grace Chen has posted up this weeks Digital Comics Store PSP and PSPgo updates today, as follows:

Hi everyone - Here's this week's update for PlayStation Store Digital Comics.

This is one hell of an update actually, and we've got it all this week - brand new publishers, brand new comics, and more of your favorites!

Wonder Woman returns with four new comics this week, issues #1 to #4 of Wonder Woman Vol.3, otherwise known as the "Who is Wonder Woman?" story arc. Amazon warrior Diana is missing, leaving Donna Troy in charge of the Wonder Woman mantle. But what happens if Diana returns, and when you have two Wonder Women?

We are also thrilled to introduce new publisher Twistory, who this week bring you three excellent new series: 13 Chambers, a beautifully illustrated fantasy/western series set in 1860s Far West; Dust, another little gem set in a WW2 gone wrong under the influence of new alien technology; and Dust Wars, sultry sci-fi with more of Paolo Parente's beautiful art.

We also have more Batman for you (#664 to #666, in other words Batman & Son #6 to #8), more Silent Hill with all four issues of Silent Hill: Sinner's Reward, 1960s Iron Man with five issues of Iron...

European PSN Game Store Update for October 6, 2010

185w ago - SCEE PlayStation Store Manager Mike Kebby is here with this weeks European PSN Game Store PS3 and PSP updates today, as follows:

We have one full game for you this week in the form of Ferrari: The Race Challenge.

Fully featured with (up to) 16 player multiplayer, and a single player tiered career mode, you can show off your prowess with a range of some of the best vehicles ever manufactured (no Ferrari didn't pay me to say that).

For your PSP needs we have Phantasy Star Portable 2 available, and the Essentials range keeps growing with nine additions this week (this necessitates an exclamation mark)!

I also feel the need this week to highlight one of the latest minis added to the roster; Ace Armstrong Vs. The Alien Scumbags. Not only is the name fantastic, but it looks like a pretty nifty old-school shooter (like Mum used to make).

Modern Warfare 2 saw a week's price promotion on the Stimulus and Resurgence Packs start yesterday, and we have another week of the recent Special Offers to go.
