- Another year, another Showdown. The first Hero Showdown of 2008 kicks off by going to the mats with two titans of the gaming world, guys who have a history of pissing off and picking fights with gods and devils: Devil May Cry's Dante vs. God of War's Kratos.
Last time on Hero Showdown, Homer Simpson took Peter Griffith to the mattresses, and earned a first-place trophy filled with Duff in the process. Sector 7G's "best" employee scored 65.8% of the vote, leaving Quahog's lovable chicken fighter with 34.1%.
The latest installment of HS promises to deliver an ass-kicking of biblical proportions, as the half-devil, half-man-child takes on a former Spartan-turned-deity. And audience participation is encouraged, so check out the profiles below, add a comment or six, and cast your vote in the poll below. Fights don't get any easier than that.
So let's do this:
The star of Capcom's Devil May Cry series since 2001, Dante is the son of a mortal woman and a devil lieutenant who managed the not-so-easy task of conquering and imprisoning the Devil (Satan, Lucifer, Disney, he has many names...). With an origin like that (and frosted, metro hair) it is no surprise that Dante has some violent tendencies. But what demon-slaying mercenary doesn't?
With twin handguns...
