184w ago - Three weeks ago it was rumored that Killzone 3 is in development for Sony's PS3 console, and tentatively scheduled for release sometime during 2010.
Today, ConnectedConsoles.com (linked above) is reporting that Guerrilla Studios employee Jan-Bart Van Beek stated the title is actually being developed with a 2011 target date, but the game could be released as early as 2010.
For now, it's just more fuel on the fire for the rumormill... as there has been no official confirmation by Guerrilla Games nor Sony.
To quote: When speaking in a video interview with a Dutch TV Show recently, Guerrilla Studios employee Jan-Bart Van Beek is reported to claim "Right now, Killzone 3 for a release in 2011, is being developed. Who knows, maybe we'll see the game even as early as 2010."
187w ago - Update: As expected, Eurogamer reports that Sony has declined to comment on rumours that Killzone 3 is "deep in development" and will be released next year.
It appears the latest issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine hints that Killzone 3 is "deep in development" for PS3 and readying itself for 2010, alongside a follow up to Call Of Duty: World At War from Treyarch and Resistance 3.
If Killzone 3 were to launch in late 2010, it would be an approximate 18 month turn-around for Guerilla, certainly not out of the realms of possibility with the engine already complete.
To quote: While reading a copy of PlayStation: The Official Magazine (December 2009) issue that was sent to my mail, something really seemed to catch my eye. On page 20 of the magazine there is an article titled "The Secret Games of 2010″ and it just so happens to speak of Killzone 3.
"Insider slips reveal three big names you can already pencil for the next year. Killzone 3 is reportedly deep in development, Insomniac's Full Moon Show podcast hints at a project we can only conclude is Resistance 3, and a Treyarch employee's online mentions a Call of Duty: World at War sequel."
195w ago - Today over 100 items were added PlayStation Home, along with 2 new apartments.
Added to this plethora of new goodies, Sony is giving you Killzone 2 fans something for you to show off in PlayStation Home.
To quote: "Sony has begun sending out codes for a free Killzone 2 Home T-Shirt to PSN users who have purchased either the Steel and Titanium Map Pack, or the Flash and Thunder Map Pack, as 'a special thank you for supporting the blistering first person shooter'.
The shirt features a glowing stripe pattern of the guns from KZ2.
So far the T-Shirt has only been confirmed for SCEE regions, with US accounts not yet receiving the promotion as of this writing."
199w ago - Today TheSixthAxis.com (linked above) is reporting that they have received an e-mail from an unknown source who allegedly has included a Killzone 3 logo prototype.
Odds are high it's simply a PhotoShop job, however, there is always a chance that a marketer has selected TheSixthAxis to begin a promotional campaign leading up to an announcement at GamesCom or a similar upcoming event.
To quote: "It came from someone I've never had any contact with before, had no message in the email and no further explanation was offered. I'm just publishing it because I know you will all want to see it but I can't vouch for it and I am marking it (for obvious reasons) as a rumour. Make what you will of it.
We have contacted the person who sent us the image below and asked for more information which, if we get it, we will keep you informed of."
So, that being said.. if anyone has time to do some detective work on the picture feel free to comment below.
