160w ago - Today Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has confirmed previous reports that KillZone 3 is coming to the PlayStation 3 console and will indeed be playable in PS3 3D, and SCEE's James Gallagherhints the first KZ3 PS3 trailer is likely to arrive for E3 if not before!
To quote: Our friends in Europe recently held an event where journalists went hands-on with Killzone 3... in 3D. SCEE's James Gallagher was there, and he's got what you want to know: details.
Earlier this month I made my first trip to Amsterdam and while I didn't get chance to visit the Van Gogh Museum, I did get a different sensory treat: I got to play Killzone 3 in 3D.
The select group of journalists invited had little idea of what to expect as they climbed the stairs to a private cinema in Amsterdam's Melkweg, but soon Hermen Hulst, Managing Director of Guerrilla Games, took to the podium and revealed all.

160w ago - We've seen KillZone 3 PlayStation 3 logos and target dates in recent months, and today pictures from the latest GamePro Magazine have surfaced courtesy of Easyle alongside new KillZone 3 PS3 details- including 3D effects and a game engine with the help of Naughty Dog!
To quote: Included in the article (while I'm reading) on KillZone 3:
• Will show the Helghast have humanity left in them.
• Will have the feeling that "of being in a place far away from home, outnumbered by people who want to kill you."
• Will be like Inglorious Basterds.
• All of the characters in the screenshots are flying in.. jetpacks?!
• Will include arctic levels.
• One mission in the game involves rescuing ISA Captain Narville.
• Game is playable in 3D!
• Have to wear 3D glasses, apparently the 3D effects are "crazy."
• Combat is "unchanged from predecessor."
• Or is it? Hand to hand combat involves you "Unloading a string of different (and often brutal) attacks on stunned enemies."

186w ago - Guerrilla Games Lead Online Game Designer Eric Boltjes has announced that in celebration of Killzone for PS2 turning five a Double XP weekend is in order, as follows:
November 26 will be a very special day for all of us here at Guerrilla. On that day, exactly five years ago, the very first Killzone title for PlayStation 2 hit the shelves in Europe.
Sure, the game had already been released in the US three weeks prior, but hey... Guerrilla is based in the Netherlands. We commemorate the 26th because that's the date that we were finally able to see the fruits of our labor in Dutch stores.
Of course, it would be a shame to leave this occasion unmarked - and I'm not talking about the champagne and strange Dutch snacks we'll undoubtedly be having at the studio. We also want to celebrate it with you, the fans. After all, the Killzone brand wouldn't be where it is today without your support. So here's what we have in store for you over the next few days:
Looking back at Killzone 1
Later this week on Killzone.com, Seb "Motherh" Downie and I are going to play through the first Killzone game for you. We'll be commenting on our favorite sections and wallowing in beer-induced nostalgia.
188w ago - Three weeks ago it was rumored that Killzone 3 is in development for Sony's PS3 console, and tentatively scheduled for release sometime during 2010.
Today, ConnectedConsoles.com (linked above) is reporting that Guerrilla Studios employee Jan-Bart Van Beek stated the title is actually being developed with a 2011 target date, but the game could be released as early as 2010.
For now, it's just more fuel on the fire for the rumormill... as there has been no official confirmation by Guerrilla Games nor Sony.
To quote: When speaking in a video interview with a Dutch TV Show recently, Guerrilla Studios employee Jan-Bart Van Beek is reported to claim "Right now, Killzone 3 for a release in 2011, is being developed. Who knows, maybe we'll see the game even as early as 2010."
