Video: God of War: Origins Collection PS3 Bonus Content Detailed

50°
172w ago - Ready at Dawn Game Director Dana Jan has shared a video and details today on the God of War: Origins Collection PS3 bonus content for fans.

To quote: With God of War: Origins Collection due to hit stores next week (September 13th!), I thought it would be fun to share my recollection of what went down at the Game Directors Live round table discussion last year prior to the launch of God of War: Ghost of Sparta, but before I do, here's a quick teaser trailer of the event.

Remember the full video is part of the bonus content that is included in God of War: Origins Collection, along with a Legionnaire Kratos skin and the Forest of the Forgotten combat arena, all on the same Blu-ray Disc.

Now back to the event...it was September 1st and we were deep into the final stages of completing Ghost of Sparta when the taping occurred. Do they even use tape anymore? Anyway, it was apparently the only time when all five of us could be in the same place at the same time.

So, Ru and I drove up to the El Portal Theater in North Hollywood from the Ready At Dawn office, tired and battered, but ready for what would be an interesting evening. When we pulled up to the theater, there were already fans lined up outside waiting for the doors to open....

SoulCalibur V for PS3 at Comic-Con: Ivy, Natsu, Z.W.E.I. Detailed

250°
178w ago - This weekend Producer Hisaharu Tago has shared a SoulCalibur V PS3 update from Comic-Con 2011 including details on the Ivy, Natsu, Z.W.E.I. characters, as follows:

I wanted to go over the SoulCalibur V news we announced at this week's San Diego Comic-Con to the PlayStation.Blog and all of its fans.

SoulCalibur V (SCV for short) is a bit of a particular project. There are two main reasons for this: The first one is because Project Soul, the development team behind the SoulCalibur franchise, was disbanded after the release of [Register or Login to view links] for the PSP system.

The members were spread throughout Namco Bandai Games to work on other projects within the company. Soon after that happened, [Register or Login to view links], the Director of the TEKKEN series, called on SoulCalibur fans to speak up and send a message to Namco Bandai Games to develop a new SoulCalibur title. As a result of Harada-san's request, we received many passionate notes from fans allowing us to reform Project Soul for SCV.

The entire Project Soul team, myself included, appreciates the outpouring of support from fans and wanted to reflect this with a new Project Soul logo.

The new logo...

Video: Payday: The Heist Q&A Detailed and PS3 Trailer Revealed

100°
179w ago - Today Sony Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has revealed a new PS3 trailer video for The Heist alongside details via Q&A session.

To quote: After going hands on with [Register or Login to view links], media referred to it as "Left 4 Dead with Banks" and "My favorite discovery of E3." With the game's release scheduled for later this year, we had some questions of our own. Fortunately, OVERKILL obliged, with creative director Simon Vicklund providing detailed answers about the game, as well as this new trailer.

PlayStation.Blog: What was the inspiration for PAYDAY: The Heist? Why was it important to focus on four-player co-op and not going the Left 4 Dead route with 4 v 4?

Simon Vicklund, OVERKILL Software: The idea came from way back - a pet project of sorts for the guys on the team. Part of what eventually caused us to start working on the project was the profound truth that Dane Cook shared when he said that "every guy wants to be part of a heist" - we realized how incredibly accurate that statement is, haha.

Then of course, a lot of inspiration came from several epic Hollywood movie movies such as "Heat", "The...
