WWDC 2008: iPhone Games Hit in July

333w ago - At its Worldwide Developers Conference today, Apple announced that the first full-fledged games for iPhone will be released alongside the launch of iPhone App Store this July.

SEGA's Super Monkey Ball will be one of the initial launch titles, featuring a whopping 110 stages spanning five worlds. Pricing is set at $9.99.

Other titles shown at the conference include Enigmo, Cro-Mag Rally, and a God of War-like 3D action game. Games less than 10 MB in size can be downloaded directly via the iPhone.

If larger, you'll have to use WiFi connection or iTunes on the PC. Pricing for future games will be ultimately up to the developers themselves, with Apple taking a 30 percent royalty cut.

334w ago - Too Human is produced by renowned Canadian developer Silicon Knights. The masterminds behind critically-acclaimed hits such as Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes and Eternal Darkness, Silicon Knights brings a wealth of knowledge, story-based design and gameplay expertise to usher in the next-generation of video gaming.

Too Human has been in development for well over a decade dating back all the way to the PS1 era. Now after all this time it is finally nearing it's release. The development road seems to have been full of stumbling blocks related to the Unreal Engine 3 initially. Along the way the UE3 powered Too Human even led to a lawsuit between Silicon Knights and Epic.





With Silicon Knights citing their discontent with Epic's technology they eventually scrapped the engine in favor of their own build. The early game previews were met with mixed results. So the real question is will Too Human be the next big hit in the action/RPG genre that Xbox 360 enthusiasts have been waiting for?

Metallic Blue PSP Hits Japan This July

334w ago - Sony Computer Entertainment Japan today announced plans to release two new PSP hardware bundle packages on July 17.

The value pack consists of a Metallic Blue colored PSP, along with a pouch, hand strap, cloth, a 32MB Memory Stick, and a D Terminal AV Cable.

Then there's the 1 Seg Pack, which includes the same PSP, in addition to a 1GB Memory Stick and 1 Seg TV tuner. Both packs will retail for 23,800 yen and 29,800 yen respectively.

BioShock Hits PS3 in October, Features Extra Content

335w ago - Publisher 2K Games today announced that last year's critically acclaimed Xbox 360 shooter BioShock will make its way to the PlayStation 3 in October.

2K is promising that the PS3 version will feature "new features and content that heighten the award-winning experience."

Unfortunately, further details were not given, although company president Christoph Hartmann noted that we can expect a full reveal over the coming months.
