356w ago - For those of you who are waiting for Sony to release a new firmware with support for the Matroska video container, 3r1c over at Doom9 might have the tool to make your wait bearable.

His tool MKV2VOB will remux MKV video with x264/AC3 to a VOB file that is playable by the PS3. It also supports subtitles since a while back.

Remuxing is a very quick way of making an mkv video playable on the PS3 as compared to converting which can be an extremely time consuming process, especially for HD material.

Vader playable in The Force Unleashed!

400°
356w ago - Lucasarts have announced that the all powerful Darth Vader will be playable in The Force Unleashed. However, he will just be available in the games first level, and from then on you will instead take the role of Vader's apprentice - which is the guy you have most likely seen in all recent screenshots and videos of the much vaunted title.

As Vader you will apparently get to play with all the force powers available, causing as much destruction as you want, thus getting a good taste of what's to come further on in the game. If you ever played one of the Metroid titles you should be familiar with mechanic, although in this case you won't be losing your powers, but instead switching to a different character to build from thr ground up.

Sounds exciting, but it was recently announced that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will be released this September, so you've got a bit of wait before you can grab your red lightsaber, and truly understand the power of the Dark Side.
