1200°
207w ago - Today PSGroove has shared details courtesy of [Register or Login to view links] on how to run PS3 games which contain 4+GB files from an external PlayStation 3 FAT32 HDD.

Those interested can check out the guide below, and be sure to share your results in our PS3 JailBreak Game Compatibility List.

To quote: Due to FAT32 limitations users needed to run these games from internal hard drive only. However, it seems that isn't the only option anymore. Many games utilize a file format known as PSARC (*.psarc).

These files ending in .psarc are archive files similar to zip or rar files on PC. By extracting these large archive files and using the smaller files that are inside, users can get stay under the 4GB limit.

This method has been tested on Uncharted II, and will only work on games utilizing the psarc file format.

1) Download PSARC.zip PlayStation Archive Utility (or the PARC GUI v0.1 or the PARC GUI v0.2 update by TeamKidneyBean...

Give me a little sorry for yourself and for those who doubt this project because I've spent a bit of my time and achieved what I wanted to do, not having a separate usb device, I wanted to run from the command Psgroove Sixsaxis and step be updatable via PC with just the controller and a USB cable for your bad luck has made the video I'm uploading...

208w ago - Following up on his previous work, today AerialX [Register or Login to view links] that the beginnings of a PS3 LV2 Userland (GameOS) patch framework dubbed Kammy are available for PSGroove linked above at Github or directly below.

Download: Kammy Userland PS3 LV2 GameOS Patches for PSGroove

To quote: Kammy is a system for loading patches to lv2 (PlayStation 3's Game OS) from a user application, using PSGroove or any other implementation of the exploit that adds the peek/poke syscalls. Kammy was inspired by Treeki's Nintendo Wii game patching system, Kamek.

Building
Building Kammy requires three different gcc compiler toolchains.

•gcc: A normal host gcc is required to build the raw2h application.
•ppu-lv2-gcc: Used to compile the loader, only available from Sony.
•ppu-gcc, ppu-binutils: A version of gcc that will compile 64bit PowerPC instructions is required to build the patches. Linux packages can be found on [Register or Login to view links]. (note: ppu-lv2-gcc may suffice for this, untested)
