205w ago - Below is a video from TheIndianKhan on YouTube and some info on Zpack for PS3, which claims (ZPack FAQ) to be the first PlayStation 3 backup system.
To quote: I found this in my holiday in Korea, there are PS3 cafes which run their games from external harddisk without using the original disks. I am one of the first who tested this Zpack System.
Zpack is the first working Backup System for PlayStation 3. It was especially designed for PlayStation Cafes across the world to avoid damaging your original game disk and beware them to be stolen by customers. You will not need the original disk to play on your PS3 anymore just start any game you have directly from your external hard disk.
Zpack comes to you with a USB Dongle and a DISK with the Zpack Software, which you only need the first time for installation. The USB dongle have to be connected to your PS3 all the time. When you run a PlayStation Cafe with 8 PlayStation Terminals, you will need 8 Zpacks for each PS3 Terminal to run the games from the external drives. Please pay Attention for our Zpack bundles.
206w ago - A modder named Techknott has shared a video of a Wireless PS3 WVI Mod he made that allows for playing Modern Warfare 2 on the go!
The handheld sends control signals to a PS3 which transmits video signals back to the device, which will soon be available for purchase apparenrly.
To quote: PS3 version of the WVI. Just got it finished(ish) today. Its playable, however, I have blown a TA7176AP chip on the sound reciever board, so while there is sound, its really crap quality until I get it changed - no biggie.
This will be for sale once I get the sound problem sorted out.

206w ago - This weekend GeoHot, the hacker responsible for several Apple iPhone hacks, has returned to Sony PS3 hacking after his initial announcement a few months back and has opened a PS3 hacks blog (linked above).
"I just pulled everything from the USB bus... http://pastie.org/757313 the Cell processor SPI bus, PS3 is going down :-)"
These are the latest posts on his new PS3 hacks blog:
The Cell processor has an SPI port which is used to configure the chip on startup. Well documented here. It also allows hypervisor level MMIO registers to be accessed. In the PS3, the south bridge sets up the cell, and the traces connecting them are on the bottom layer of the board. Cut them and stick an FPGA between.
Quick theoretical attack. Set an SPU's user memory region to overlap with the current HTAB. Change the HTAB to allow read/write to the hypervisor! If that works it's full compromise...
207w ago - Update: SKFU has now posted the following update: Ok guys, as Mathieulh is a lot more familiar with PSP related stories, thanks to him I can tell you now that my little idea won't work.
The reason is, that the Datel technique requires the application to run as UPDATE. The PSP runs the program in update mode which the PS3 won't be able to emulate at all. So sorry, no PSP homebrew on PS3, at least not via this way.
Today SKFU (linked above) shared a video of Datel's Action Replay running on official PSP Firmware 6.20, which leaves speculation as to whether the cracked PSP encryption process could lead to PSP homebrew on Sony's PS3 console.
Based on SKFU's idea below, we'll stick this in the PS3 Hacks section where PS3 hacks, exploits, mods, projects and ideas are discussed.
To quote: Datel may had success in cracking the PSP's encryption process and sign EBOOT's to run their own software on official firmwares, including the newest and the PSP Go hardware.
Why do I post it as I only focus on PS3 you may wonder, but hey the PS3 just got it's PSP...
209w ago - A few days ago we saw a barrage of videos on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 glitches and PS3 hacks.
Today, Codb0t (linked above) reports that the first Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 AimBot for PS3 has arrived, although it may not be publically released until this Christmas.
For those unaware, an aimbot is a game bot used in multiplayer first-person shooter games to provide varying levels of target acquisition assistance to the player. As it gives the user an unfair advantage over unaided players, it is considered cheating and is often frowned upon by honest players.
That being said, to quote from their latest update:
"So you have all seen the MW2 Leaderboard hack on PS3 were people are changing there scores to what ever they like and their rank to 10th in 5 mins. Well we have gone one better. The first MW2 BOT for PS3 - Also know as Codb0t.
As you can see from the pictures below it puts red field box around the other team. With this you can easily see were the other team are. We have also worked out a code were you can also make the b0t automatically aim for you.
How did we do it? Well we took all the MW2 Files and played around with the code...
