215w ago - According to complaints across the Web, the co-op feature of Borderlands is currently broken on the PS3 console.
Symptoms of the bug include freezes when opening the public game list and a general lag-filled experience.
Gearbox Software Engineer Scott Velasquez has posted the following in the Gearbox Community thread on this issue, to quote:
Update on the North American PS3 Friends Interface issue:
We've identified the problem and are working on a fix. Believe it or not, the friends feature was heavily tested by Gearbox and 2K. However, this particular issue we found could have never manifested itself in our or 2K's test environments.
We'll find out very soon if the issue exists for the PS3 International versions of the Borderlands. If it does, we'll hopefully have a fix implemented before it affects those customers.
We are doing everything we can to get this problem addressed as quickly as possible. Thanks to everybody who provided us with tons of information.

To quote: "SCEA is aware of reports that PS3 owners are experiencing isolated issues with their PS3 system since installing the most recent system software update (v3.00).
Rest assured that we are looking into the matter and will provide an update here as soon as possible.
We apologize for any inconvenience, as it's our mission to deliver the best consumer experience on all PlayStation platforms."
Good news indeed for everyone experiencing them since updating to PS3 Firmware 3.00!
222w ago - Even with the PS3 Firmware 3.0 official full changelog available, it appears there are some previously unmentioned extras surfacing in the update.
To begin, PSInsider (linked above) reports that an integrated connection speed test is now included... as pictured below.
To quote: "The first I noticed is a speedtest in the connection test. So next time you turn on your ps3, you can find what your ps3 is pulling down, and the upload speed too."
Next up, PSNAtHome.com states that a PS3 Slim 'game content' download fix is included in the update, as follows:
If you just recently bought a PS3 Slim and wanted to download your game content to your Slim PS3 it will say to you "Please Deactivate a System", I then decided to call Sony because I knew I only have 2 Systems the Original PS3 and the newest Slim version.
After being on hold, a tech support told me the reason and the reason is and I do quote him:
"I am not suppose to tell anyone about this but, since retailers sold the slim PS3 before the release day which is September 1st, the PlayStation...
225w ago - Today AceSoloMcCloud shared some news on the official EU PlayStation boards (linked above) that a Ghostbusters PS3 patch fix update will arrive within the next two weeks.
Issues to be addressed are freezes and lockups present that are so bad that a gamer must power off their PS3 by the rear rocker switch. Glitched PS3 Trophies and errors when players from Europe and Australia try to play with players from the US and gamesave data not loading or corrupting are also on the list.
To quote: "I understand from your correspondence that you have encountered some issues with this title. As the title's publisher, we have been made aware of some issues that are currently affecting a very small number of users.
I can advise that the developer of this title, Atari, are currently working on a patch to address these issues which we expect to be available within the next two weeks."
