WipEout HD PS3 Patch 2.10 Update is Incoming

251w ago - SCEE's Partner Marketing Executive Mikel Arrien has announced today that the WipEout HD PS3 patch 2.10 update is incoming, to quote:

We wanted to touch base with you all to share some information about the impending release of the 2.10 update for Wipeout HD / Fury that's coming soon.

The 2.10 Update makes some small improvements to front-end functionality and addresses some minor issues with the audio. In addition, small issues that could affect gameplay or scores in the Eliminator and Detonator game modes have also been corrected.

Changes have also been made so that any adverts shown during loading screens will not adversely affect the loading times of the title. As many of you know, the functionality to display adverts during loading screens was first introduced in the 2.0 Update and originally didn't function as intended, leading to extended loading times in some areas of the game.

This issue has now been resolved and we understand that a new advertising campaign in Wipeout HD is expected to launch across a number of European territories soon (no word yet on what is happening in North America). In the meantime, a range of PlayStation-specific ads will be making an appearance in the coming days.

PSP Firmware 6.0 Update Incoming, Changelog Now Available

Just over a week ago we saw a preview of PSP Firmware 6.0 for developers.

According to Allison Walter on the official PlayStation Blog, the update is [Register or Login to view links] to arrive on September 10, 2009... which means it should hit the [Register or Login to view links] later tonight.

To quote: "What is going to happen is that Sony is going to republish the Badman demo 10 September. By that time, I'm told, Firmware 6.0 will have been released. Sorry about the delay."

Titan Studios Details Incoming Fat Princess Patch Fix

263w ago - Yesterday Sony acknowledged that a Fat Princess patch fix for the online issues many gamers have been experiencing was in the works.

Today Titan Studios have detailed the update on their blog, to quote:

We've received a flood of emails in the last 36 hours. We're humbled by the incredible outpouring of appreciation and support from the community, and by the number of fans who have invested staggering amounts of time and effort in writing thoughtfully about their experiences and offering suggestions. Many of you are also actively contributing to forums all over the Web.

Ninety-five out of a hundred emails are from gamers loving the game, even though some of them are experiencing varying degrees of networking problems and other bugs. Some of you have have serious troubles and are rightfully frustrated. We're frustrated too, and we're on it. Regardless, we thank you all. Titan loves you back.

Patch in Testing

We have implemented fixes that should substantially improve critical connection and lag issues. A patch has now entered testing. No ETA yet. When we have information to share, you'll get it.

Hello, I just wanted to provide everyone with a head's up that the next PLAYSTATION 3 system software update (v.2.76) will be coming soon.

This is a minor update that improves the playback quality of some PS3 format software.

CoD4 Cheater Killing Patch Incoming for XBox 360 Gamers

277w ago - During his trip through Europe, Infinity Ward's Community Relations Manager Robert Bowling has found the time to [Register or Login to view links] that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on the Xbox 360 will be getting a patch soon that will be a headache for players who like to get their kicks by cheating.

Bowling says the patch is going through certification now and that the "cheaters days are numbered."

To quote: Heads up - A patch is in the works to elminate the cheaters in COD4 on Xbox360.
