To quote: The time has come, folks! The countdown's over - we wait no more!
As promised, the FINAL FANTASY XIII developer team put together a special message to celebrate with you the history of the series and reveal new details of its latest - and long awaited - chapter.
But I won't say more and leave the stage to the game Producer himself, who wanted to write a few lines for the occasion, exclusively for the PlayStation blog.
Hello, this is Yoshinori Kitase, Producer of FINAL FANTASY XIII.
I am very excited that the launch of the latest chapter of the FINAL FANTASY series is just around the corner.
We have prepared a special video for FINAL FANTASY XIII including new footage and some very important information...
212w ago - Today Square Enix global president Yoichi Wada has revealed that development on Final Fantasy XIII has been "going very steadily" for the US ane European versions and that they're "just adding the final touches" to the game.
To quote: "We've completed the master of the Japanese version, and for the US and European versions we're just adding the final touches," Wada told GI.biz. "The last stage of development has gone very smoothly this time.
"It took us a tremendous amount of time to develop the software for this generation, so that's a lesson for the creators."
Perhaps Final Fantasy XIII will launch much sooner than we thought? We'll have to see come this Friday, when both a US and European announcement will be made on the game.
213w ago - Update: RPGLand.com has now uncovered what appears to be a preliminary picture (below) of the Final Fantasy XIII North American PS3 box art on Play-Asia.com.
Square Enix have posted an anagram on their official North American Final Fantasy XIII Web site recently. The puzzle, dubbed "A Henchmen Inventor Tent Unto," appears to hint at an upcoming Final Fantasy XIII announcement.
Shortly following its release, FinalFantasy-XIII.net uncovered the message's meaning as: "Announcement Nov Thirteenth."
To quote: "The nature of this 'announcement' is still up in the air, though our money's on an official North American release date for the super-anticipated RPG.
Though, considering the speed at which the series is growing now, we wouldn't be surprised if Squeenix went ahead and dropped the Final Fantasy XV bomb on us."
215w ago - The folks over at IGN went over the latest issue of Famitsu magazine and revealed that Final Fantasy XIII won't require a PS3 HDD installation.
They also made a comment on loading times, and how the only time you will see them is when the transition from town to field occurs.
The devs Tetsuya Nomura and Motomu Toriyama commented on how they did this because they wanted to create seamless environments with no loading.
To quote: "Toriyama also shared some technical details on the game. Save data will take up 500KB. Trophy data takes up 3,080KB (yes, it looks like the game supports Trophies!). In case you were stocking up munitions for a big system wars battle, there won't be a hard disk installation.
Worried about load times? Don't be. The only time you'll see load times is when you transition from town to field. Once you're out on the field, the game is seamless. Toriyama explained that the game's tech staff tackled loading early on in order to keep the experience as smooth as possible."
