323w ago - Capcom product manager John Diamonon revealed during a recent interview with Edge Online that a Capcom-themed PSN store will open this November. The store's layout will essentially be the same as Sony's, but with Capcom-specific assets and titles.

To quote: "Out of all of the third-party companies making use of the digital space, [Sony] recognizes Capcom is one of the best partners for content," said John Diamonon, product manager on all Capcom digital titles.

He said that Sony approached Capcom with the idea. "We're supporting PlayStation Network like no other company," Diamonon claimed.

Capcom expects the store to launch in early November. Diamonon acknowledged that other publishers will offer dedicated storefronts in the future.

324w ago - According to the source linked above, there is a rumor that Capcom and SEGA are planning to unveil "SEGA vs. Capcom: Great Clash Generation" at the Tokyo Game show for the Nintendo DS.

The game is described as a "hybrid RPG-fighting game" coming out on the Nintendo DS in Q1 2009 with a "likely" PSP port later in the new year. SEGA is apparently heading the game's development alongside Dimps.

Capcom however will take on the role of supervisor. Anonymous did not have any knowledge as to who would make up the character roster, but did mention that Rockman and Sonic's presence were a given.

Capcom Doing Overtime to Make Resident Evil 5 Look Hot

325w ago - In an effort to achieve greater realism, Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi says his team met with clothing manufacturers to ensure authentic in-game apparel.

To quote: "The footwear and gloves the main character wears are all based on real items," said Takeuchi, in an undated interview on Capcom's Japanese site.

"We contacted the makers of those items to find out all the little details that go into making them, that way players don't have a sense of the game being completely divorced from reality."

As Takeuchi puts it, players will be able to see individual clothing fibers so that characters will breath in a more life-like fashion, presumably so the game will freak you out even more when a Zombie dog jumps through a window.

"Resident Evil 5 will occupy a unique place in the gaming world," added the veteran producer. "We are going to shock everybody."

Here's hoping it does when the game arrives on March 13, 2009 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
