Confirmed: X-Edge (US) is Coming in March 2009 to PlayStation 3

50°
299w ago - Speaking to [Register or Login to view links], an NIS America representative confirmed the rumors that the ensemble RPG X-Edge will be headed for the US.

That's great news for traditional JRPG fans everywhere - the Compile Heart title features characters from the companies Capcom, Namco-Bandai, Gust, Idea Factory and Nippon Ichi.

Mark your calendars, the game will be released in March 2009.

To quote: X-Edge just seems to have NIS America all over it. It features characters from Disgaea, Mana Khemia, Ar tonelico, Spectral Souls, and the Atelier series. I mean, come on, there are even Prinnies. When should we expect to see it in North America?

NISA: X-Edge is an interesting project since it's a collaboration between 3 different companies. It's pretty funny to see a little Prinny fight characters from Darkstalkers like Morrigan and Demitri.

The release date isn't finalized yet, but it's going to be in March 09.

Under Siege Coming Exclusively to the PlayStation 3 Console

100°
299w ago - Seed Studios was supposed to reveal a PS3 exclusive game at Leipzig Games Convention earlier this year. It didn't happen.

However, their official site (linked above) now reveals the name of their upcoming game: Under Siege.

There are no details what this game is about, or what it'll even look like. All we know is that it'll be on the PS3, and only on the PS3.

You can take a look at the official site, but don't expect to find out much more.

When we get our hands on any new information, you'll be sure to find out.

Trophy Errors Hit the PlayStation 3, Fix Coming

50°
299w ago - An unexplained error related to PS3 Trophy synchronization is breaking a number of games on the console.

The error, which seems to have first struck after the release of firmware version 2.50, appears to occur when users change their PSN ID or password.

After doing so, their Trophy data becomes corrupt and running a select number of games brings up an error that notifies the user of a failure to sync Trophy data. In the worst of cases, the game forces the player to quit and "try again", only to repeat the same message.

Known affected titles include WipEout HD, Burnout Paradise, LittleBigPlanet and Pain.

The first complaints hit forums back in October and, having gone unfixed for so long, it has left many doubtful that a patch will come before the Christmas break, when those PS3s should be getting a considerable hammering.

A Sony community man posting under the alias 'MusterBuster' only just this week said: "A fix is on the way, but I don't have an ETA yet".

Firmware update 2.53, released earlier this month, didn't fix the problem.

CVG has contacted Sony for an official statement. Hopefully we'll have some good news for you before the day's out.

Otherwise, there is one suggested fix that has worked for some titles. Bit of a pain...

Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom Coming to PSN in January

50°
300w ago - Today Howard Lehr of TikGames announced that Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom is coming to the PlayStation Network this January.

To quote: A big 'hello' to all of the PlayStation blog readers out there! We at TikGames have been laboring away on this game for quite a while and it's a relief to finally be able to tell you all about the fantastic stories and artwork it contains.

You see, one of the keys things about Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom for PS3 (available on PSN in early January for $9.99) is right there in the name. There are three modes to the game, each offering a unique experience.

In Ancient Tales mode, each piece of an old Chinese story is revealed when the player finishes a layout by matching the one pair of golden tiles on the board.

So, if you want to see the end of the story, you have to play your way through it and unlock the next episode. The stories are meant to add to the enjoyment of the classic game and pass along some ancient wisdom from one of the world's great cultures.

Now, keep in mind that there are hundreds of Chinese tales out there, all of which offer insights that we the players would value. However, many of them contain story elements that aren't...
