2K Games: BioShock PS3 Patch Coming to Fix Texture Issues

100°
302w ago - Just over a week ago, we reported on the BioShock Demo's Texture issues.

Today, 2K Elizabeth (2K Community Manager) has reported that the 2K Development Team is working on a patch for BioShock on the PS3 which should fix all of the visual problems.

For now, she confirmed that two fixes are included relating to the Big Daddy Bouncer and Elite Bouncer Textures Appeared Pixelated and White Bars.

To quote: Hey guys,

I have good news from the dev team about a patch for BioShock PS3! They have been working on a patch to address the concerns some of you on the forum have talked about. As work is in progress I do not have a definite date for when this patch will be released as it needs to be tested and clear certification with Sony before it is scheduled and released. I do know this will not be until after the game's launch, and I will update you with details on that date as I receive them.

I'll be releasing the entire patch list when it's all finalized, but for now I'm sure you'll be happy to see that these two fixes are included.

Tretton: Gamers Coming back to us, People are Choosing the PS3

50°
303w ago - The President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment of America (SCEA), Jack Tretton, has told the Financial Times that he has no qualms about Sony meeting their corporate goals and selling every PS3 they manufacture.

Tretton was also asked whether the consoles stands now after a shaky first years. "Gamers are coming back to us, we are selling a higher percentage of games such as Madden NFL and Grand Theft Auto, because people are choosing the PS3 [over the Xbox].

Sales are up over 100 per cent and we are tracking well ahead of what we expected." Tretton replied.

To quote: Where do you stand right now in the console wars after a somewhat shaky first year?

Gamers are coming back to us, we are selling a higher percentage of games such as Madden NFL and Grand Theft Auto, because people are choosing the PS3 [over the Xbox].

Sales are up over 100 per cent and we are tracking well ahead of what we expected. We are having success in multiple markets and, coming up to the second anniversary of the PS3, we are right where we wanted to be.

Tekken 6 Not Coming to PS3, but Bloodline Rebellion is!

50°
303w ago - Namco Bandai held a special press conference yesterday (just a few days before the Tokyo Game Show), where they went over new and upcoming titles and other special announcements.

One of the announcements was that Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion will be heading to the PLAYSTATION 3 (no word when) and will have MORE content than the arcade version (big surprise!)

IGN was at the event and mentioned in their latest podcast that the PS3 will NOT be getting the regular version of Tekken 6, which was released late 2007 in arcades. More news as we get it!

Coming Out of the Shadows: Rusty Buchert Talks Latest Project

50°
303w ago - I've been a fan of the demo scene since the early '90s, so this caught my eye. Without further ado, from Rusty Buchert, Sr. Producer, Everyday Shooter:

Hi all, my name is Rusty Buchert and I am the Sr. Producer for Linger in Shadows. Some of you may have heard about it already from coverage here and there, but there are a lot of questions surrounding this unique title.

It will be releasing on the PlayStation Network on October 9, so I wanted to explain today about what Linger is and what it isn't. I'll start with the easier side, and that is Linger in Shadows is NOT a game. It was never meant to be a game and it will never be a game. Yes it has trophies, but it still isn't a game and I'll explain why a little later on.

So then, what the heck is it? There are a few different answers to that question and I'm going to try and cover them here. So here is the short version and then I'll ramble on in more detail. Linger in Shadows was created by Plastic, from the demoscene. It is an experiment with the demoscene and it is an experiment in Interactive Digital Art.

Now for the first part: what the heck is the demoscene...

Puzzle Quest Plus Expansion for PlayStation 3 Coming to PSN

50°
304w ago - D3Publisher has announced plans to offer a downloadable PS3 version of Puzzle Quest.

The game will come bundled with the Plague Lord expansion this winter. No price has been mentioned, although we'd guess at around 10 pounds it feels right.

There's little more we can say about Puzzle Quest other than "buy it"; the game has appeared on just about every other system since the DS and PSP originals caused a riot in 2007.

Puzzle Quest is a blend of Bejeweled and an RPG; there's a fantasy tale to unravel, but monsters and baddies met along the way must be defeated in head-to-head puzzles. Those battles are spiced up with the arrival of abilities and spells as players progress.
