245w ago - A recent [Register or Login to view links] on the Kojima Productions blog drops hints the company might be getting ready to reveal a long-awaited Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker PSP surprise.
In the post, PR manager Jiro Oishi says the following after talking about touring Japan to show off the co-op play in Peace Walker, to quote:
"However, in truth, there's another ultimate charm outside of co-op play hidden in PW."
The original birth of this news came from an earlier [Register or Login to view links] by Hideo Kojima himself, so it is likely that Oishi and Kojima are both speaking about the same unannounced feature.
To date, there hasn't been any such announcement for the game that would make people rush out to buy a PSP, so only time will tell what surprise Peace Walker may hold for fans.
246w ago - SCEA Marketing Specialist Brian Chou has introduced Echoshift for Sony's PSP console today, as follows:
I'm here to talk about [Register or Login to view links], an upcoming PlayStation Portable title that brings a fun and different twist to the puzzle genre.
Echoshift introduces a new gaming concept where you will have to play with your past actions. Each level features crazy puzzles and obstacles that must be overcome in order to reach its exit door. You have a set amount of time to reach each level's exit, and your actions are recorded as you play through the level, creating an "echo" of your past.
If time runs out before you can complete the level, you start over from the beginning alongside your echo. The echo will repeat any actions you took before, which you can use to your advantage this time around to help clear obstacles you couldn't by yourself! Cooperate with your echoes to climb platforms, clear gaps, and reach switches that you couldn't before.
The levels are filled with so many different puzzle gimmicks that you'll have to create multiple echoes to reach an exit. Whenever you start over, any echoes you've created will appear at the same time.
246w ago - Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared a video revealing that the popular PS3 title ModNation Racers is karting its way to the PSP.
To quote: Over the past few months, we've been showing you how [Register or Login to view links] is bringing the "Play, Create, Share" concept to kart racing with ModNation Racers.
Today ([Register or Login to view links]), we announced that ModNation Racers will also be coming to the PSP as well - and at the same time as its big-brother PS3 edition (the exact street date is TBA).
I was down at San Diego Studios this week, where the team demoed Mod creation, Kart customization, full track creation, single and online-multiplayer modes; basically, everything that you're expecting from the PS3 version of MNR.
How did they manage to jam all that into the PSP? That's a story for another day. Meanwhile, the proof is in the trailer, embedded below.

246w ago - Update: Flyer has found a savedata crash exploit (pictured below) that may also work with PSP Firmware v6.20.
A few months after the Mercury PSP Exploit was released comes the next discovery, specifically pspjoke of LAN.st (linked above) has found a new PSP exploit that should work on PSP Firmware 6.20 and the PSPgo!
While it isn't released yet, SilverSpring is examining it and if possible stated he would make an exploit from the game save crash... which may even be useful for eLoader fans.
To quote: "If this looks exploitable I would like to speak to one of the pros via pm to further the development of the exploit and to learn more about exploits in general.
The overrun string was just a ton of A's or 0x61.. as you see I managed to overwrite ra so I think I'm on to something.. changed to 0xEE and it is for sure."
