26w ago - Sony Producer Nicolas Doucet posted up a video today introducing The PlayRoom on PS4, and only for PlayStation 4 below!
To quote: Hi everybody! We're excited to unlock the doors to The PlayRoom, a place for fun and innovative PlayStation 4 Camera and DualShock 4 controller experiments!
As we recently announced, the DualShock 4 controller is packed with lots of new features (such as Light Bar, Touch Pad, Motion Sensor, Speaker, improved Dual Motors...). So what happens when we combine these with the PlayStation 4 Camera? Well, let us show you with this new video!
Let's start with the AR Menu. The first thing you will notice is how the Light Bar is tracked by the PlayStation 4 Camera. This allows us to make cool augmentations like these holographic panels, which come out of the controller and appear around you on the screen.
Using the Touch Pad, you can scroll through them and click to make selections. It's easy to use and very responsive, thanks to the high resolution of the Touch Pad.
Another cool finding is one we nicknamed "the sci-fi genie". By rubbing the Touch Pad like a magic lamp, you can summon Asobi, an interactive flying robot who comes out to play in your living room....
26w ago - CEO and Creative Director Ru Weerasuriya of Ready At Dawn Studios announced today that The Order: 1886 brings the Victorian Era to PlayStation 4 / PS4 video gaming with details below.
To quote: This project has been a long time coming, and I'm proud today that we finally have a chance to give you a first look into our new game, The Order: 1886. This is the first original IP created by Ready At Dawn, and the game is targeted exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
The genesis of this project happened many years ago, but it was not until 2010, when hearing of the upcoming PS4, that we as a studio decided it was time for us to bring this IP to life. We saw that the platform could finally give us the potential needed to achieve the vision we had for this game.
With The Order: 1886, we introduce players to a unique vision of Victorian-era London, an alternate history where technological advances take center stage in a battle against a powerful and ancient foe. The game takes place nearly forty years after the Industrial Revolution.
But unlike in real history, our Industrial Revolution stems from mankind's desire to prevail in a centuries-old war. The advances in technology, invented by some of the foremost minds of the time, give man an opportunity to take the upper hand for the first...
27w ago - Zombie Studios Communications Manager Collin Moore is here with a peek at Daylight for PS4: procedurally generated psychological horror on PlayStation 4!
To quote: E3 is upon us, and Zombie Studios is ready to scare the PlayStation community when Daylight comes to PlayStation 4 early 2014.
A couple months ago, we flew out to PAX East with a pre-alpha build of our latest game Daylight. When you show your game off for the first time, you really aren't sure what people will think! The entire weekend we would watch curious gamers walk up to Daylight. After a brief tutorial we'd just sit back and watch - anxiously waiting to see what would happen.
Over and over we saw people jump, scream, yell, and one person even ripped off their headphones, took a couple steps back, and looked right at us as if they saw a ghost. Right then and there we knew we had something special. Now we are excited to share that with our fans on PS4!
For those that might not have heard of Daylight, it's a procedurally generated psychological horror game. This means each time you start the game, the entire world will be different; from the layout of the level, the location of items you find, and, most importantly, the encounters you stumble into.
