183w ago - Today Examiner.com (linked above) has uncovered an ESRB Rating for an upcoming PS3 exclusive title, namely Revenge of the Wounded Dragons.

The game is in development from A2M, the folks behind WET, and with publisher Sony Online Entertainment on board the 2D fighting title will likely be heading to PSN.

To quote from the description: "This is a 2D fighting game in which players assume the roles of two brothers attempting to avenge their grandfather's death and rescue their sister from the local mafia boss. Players frequently punch, kick, and throw enemies as they "side-scroll" (i.e., walk) forward through the platform city environments; they can also use bottles, bats, knives, Molotov cocktails, pistols, shotguns, and uzi submachine guns to kill the henchmen.

All enemies disappear from the screen seconds after they are defeated. The gun attacks represent the most intense instances of violence, as enemies react to damage with brief blood spurts, screams, and twitches. One still-image cutscene depicts a strip club where women in lingerie can be seen pole-dancing in the background."

192w ago - Square Enix released some fresh screenshots (below) and new details on Nier RepliCant today- a PS3 exclusive slated for release in 2010 alongside it's counterpart Nier Gestalt for Xbox 360.

To quote: "The story is similar to that of Gestalt, but the main character will have to save his little sister affected by an incurable illness named "Black Sentence Plague".

As he will progress in his quest he will find out more about the nature of the world and about the reasons why the demons inhabiting it have began to succumb to madness.

Both Nier Gestalt and Nier RepliCant will be released in 2010, developed by studio Cavia (Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles, Bullet Witch, Drakengard, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex...) and both will be officially shown at Tokyo Game show, respectively at Microsoft's and Sony's booths.

192w ago - From Software announced 3D Dot Game Heroes just under a month ago, which features a unique art style that mimics retro 8-bit games but converts them into full 3D.

Below is the first look of 3D Dot Game Heroes in all its moving glory, and for those curious 3D Dot Game Heroes launches in November in Japan.

However, it's currently undetermined if it will ever see the light of day on Western shores.

To quote: "3D Dot Game Heroes is set to release on November 5th in Japan. Though no publisher has stepped forward to localize the game, we hear Atlus and Ignition are battling it out for the rights to bring it to our side of the pond."

194w ago - The PSN remake of Spelunker is ready to explore the dark, cavernous recesses of your console when it makes its way to America, courtesy of Tozai.

GamerBytes reports that the NES game has been updated with "new graphics, and a 6-player online cooperative mode."

To quote: Spelunker HD can be played with both classic and updated graphics.

Unlike most PSN games, the game includes a Platinum Trophy. Depending on how Tozai prices the US release, this may be one of the cheapest Platinums ever.

196w ago - Today Rockstar has debunked the rumor that surfaced yesterday that Grand Theft Auto IV: Lost and Damned DLC may be heading to the PlayStation 3 console.

To quote: Rockstar Games has told VG247 that the two episodes of DLC for Grand Theft Auto IV, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony, wont be going to the PlayStation 3 and are still Xbox 360 exclusives.

It comes as an SCEE community moderator, who was at GamesCom this week, reported last night that The Lost and Damned was playable on the showfloor for the PS3 in Cologne.

A Rockstar rep told us: "The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony are both exclusive to Xbox 360."
