House Of The Dead: Overkill PS3 Extended Cut - Creeping Flesh

137w ago - Sega Digital Campaigns Manager Mike Kebby has posted up some new screens and details on their upcoming PS3 title House Of The Dead: Overkill Extended Cut featuring creeping flesh and more below!

To quote: Not content with simply revealing the first exclusive level for the PS3 release of House of the Dead: Overkill, I'm back to give you the scoop on the second one too.

Set in the cosy confines of an abattoir taken over by a meaty disease of sorts, Creeping Flesh delivers you more of the additional awesome content we've lovingly added to the extended, and definitive, edition of OVERKILL.

We pick up the story with Varla and Candy again, and this time circumstances lead them to the local abattoir. I'm not going to spoil any of the story and the detail around what leads them there, but let's just say it's the standard House of the Dead fare; there are guns, motives for revenge and mutants galore, all wrapped up with the usual Grindhouse styling.

As you can see from the above image, there is something of a meaty infestation starting to take hold inside the building, and internally we've affectionately referred to this as the meat wall (there is also a meat tunnel later in the level,...

Hands-on: Rage - Dead to the World on PlayStation 3

141w ago - Today Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared some hands-on interview details for Rage on the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.

To quote: Last week, Jeff and I went hands-on with the PS3 version of Rage, id Software's October-bound first-person shooter.

All told, we experienced more than two hours of post-apocalyptic action, driving, and exploration in a nuke-shattered world of exquisite visual detail and startling violence.

Afterwards, we spoke with id Software President Todd Hollenshead to discuss what made the legendary DOOM developer shift gears to a story-driven, open-world playground – and to learn more about the mysteries lurking in that sprawling wasteland.

Todd Hollenshead, President, id Software: "You have to sort of experience it, it's very difficult to explain. The megatextures allow us to make the entire world unique. It's all painted and modeled and because we're streaming the textures, we're not really constrained by system memory. We can have completely unique elements throughout the world without costing us performance."

Sid Shuman, PlayStation.Blog: Any hands-on discussion of Rage must begin with its stunning visuals. Rage is...

Sega Reveals House of the Dead: Overkill Naked Terror on PS3

141w ago - Sega Public Relations Manager David Bruno has revealed details today on House of the Dead: Overkill Naked Terror for the PS3 entertainment system.

To quote: I'm pleased to be able to reveal some more exclusive news for you; this time in the form of a new level reveal.

We're proud to announce the details for the first of two exclusive levels from the Extended Cut; Naked Terror.

Naked Terror sees you fighting your way through a strip club (a real hardship I know), the streets of Bayou City and a bar, and not only do you have new environments to battle your way through, you also have new stripper and biker mutants to contend with.

The other cool aspect to this new level is who you play as, for this level G and Wash are elsewhere, leaving you to take control of Varla (previously an NPC in the original Overkill) and her stripper friend Candy.

Candy seems to have the required staples for any standard stripper: she has a heart of gold, is wholesome, innocent, yet can be naïve to the world. There is one big difference though between her and her stripper brethren; our heroine is pretty handy with a hand cannon, and skilfully adept at taking down enemies. Sounds like my kind of woman really.

There are connections between her and Jasper (the boss at the...

Video: Dead Block Hits PlayStation Network on July 19, 2011

143w ago - Candygun Games Managing Director Roger Joswig has announced today that Dead Block hits PlayStation Network on July 19 and has shared a video trailer for the PSN title below.

To quote: I'm writing for our small game development start-up Candygun Games based in Hamburg, Germany.

We've just finished our first original game: Dead Block - A 1950's Horror B-Movies inspired action defense game. I'm very happy to bring Dead Block to PS3 gamers via PSN on July 19th in the U.S!

Dead Block is a zombie game set in America's 1950s during the birth of rock 'n roll music – a music so bad, so evil that it summons the dead from their graves to eat brains!

Luckily, you are protected inside a building and you know how to defend yourself with blockades and traps. The game is a third-person action strategy mix with an old-school B-movie horror theme and cartoon-inspired art direction. Dead Block doesn't take itself too seriously; humor is a big part of the game's presentation.

During gameplay, you'll be trapped inside the building and you can use everything you find in order to build blockades and wicked traps. If zombies break in, players fight the intruders with smart bombs and rock 'n roll music. Single-player and up to four player split-screen is supported.

The House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Cut - PS Move in 3D

300°
144w ago - Sega of America's Public Relations Manager David Bruno has unveiled the box art and details on The House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Cut for PlayStation Move in 3D.

To quote: Today we are proud to reveal the box art for The House of the Dead: OVERKILL - Extended Cut, the latest b-movie blood fest from SEGA and Headstrong Games.

We announced The House of the Dead: OVERKILL - Extended Cut just before E3 this year, and were amazed to see that there were so many who were eager to take aim at the mutant infection springing up in Bayou County.

This is the first time we have released The House of the Dead on an HD console, and we feel that the PS3 is the perfect home for an arcade-style shooter like OVERKILL. With 3D and PlayStation Move support, two brand new scenarios added, and all seven stages of the original remastered, the 'baddest' just got bigger! We are really working hard to make this the best in the series to date.

These posters and our box art pay homage to our signature retro b-movie look, and hopefully you recognized the legendary Agent G and Detective Washington. This time around, we also...
