13w ago - At SCE's Japan Press Conference 2013 Sony unveiled a PS Vita TV device alongside a video of it in action below.
To quote from Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman: This afternoon in Tokyo (11:00pm tonight, Pacific Time), Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia is holding a press conference to make some announcements of interest to Japanese gamers.
The presentation is tailored specifically for the Japan and Asian regions, and the news here will not necessarily be relevant for North American gamers.
Nonetheless, we're happy to host a livestream of the event here in case you wanted a glimpse into what's next for PlayStation fans in the East.

14w ago - Sony Product Manager Ross Alexander confirmed today alongside a video trailer that the Beyond: Two Souls PlayStation 3 demo is coming on October 1st, 2013.
Below are the details, to quote: Today we can confirm that the Beyond: Two Souls demo will be available on Tuesday, October 1st on PlayStation Store. There will be opportunities for a few of you to get in on September 24th - we'll be announcing those soon.
This demo will include two scenes from the game, giving insight into the extraordinary story that awaits you next month. This will be the first chance for most to go hands-on and experience the improvements Quantic Dream has made to Heavy Rain's control scheme.
The Beyond: Two Souls demo will feature the following two scenes from the final game:
• Jodie & Aiden: Join a very young Jodie as she takes part in an experiment at the Department of Paranormal Activities. As officials put her abilities to the test, you take charge of a mysterious, invisible entity.

14w ago - According to CVG (linked above), Sony is preparing to reveal the final piece of its PlayStation 4 hardware strategy at TGS (Tokyo Game Show) 2013 by showcasing a PlayStation-branded virtual reality headset for the upcoming PS4 console.
To quote: "It originally intended to reveal the headset at Gamescom but plans fell through at the eleventh hour. The company is currently weighing up whether the PS4 device should be pitched as a key differentiator for the console or a non-essential add-on.
The matter has been slightly complicated, but not derailed, by the growing industry support for Oculus Rift. Sony's device will be a categorical rival to Oculus, and for months there have been rumours suggesting the two companies are seeking a partnership.
A games developer familiar with Sony's plans, who wished to remain anonymous, told CVG that Evolution Studios is currently working with the device to simulate a cockpit view on its PS4 title Drive Club.
Another developer claimed the virtual reality headset resembles the 3D headset that Sony first revealed in January 2011. The head-mounted display will be available separately, like with the new PlayStation Eye, in order to keep the baseline PS4 price as low as possible.
