Start Your Morning With Wake-up Club for PS Vita Next Week

400°
97w ago - Today Sony Director of Product Planning and Platform Software Innovation Don Mesa has officially introduced the Wake Up Club for PS Vita owners.

To quote: Back in April, we unveiled a host of new applications coming to PS Vita, including Wake-up Club, a new interactive way to start your day with other PS Vita owners. Next Tuesday, the application will be available to download for free on the PS Vita PlayStation Store in North America!

Let's face it: getting up in the morning isn't something we usually look forward to, but Wake-up Club adds some social fun into the mix to make getting out of bed more bearable.

In addition to adding alarm clock functionality to PS Vita for the first time, including the ability to personalize your alarm tone and background theme, Wake-up Club matches 12 randomly selected players who set their alarm clock at the same time into a–you guessed it–wake-up club!

As soon as your alarm goes off, your avatar will begin bouncing around the PS Vita touchscreen. Tapping your avatar lets other players know you're now awake. Once in the virtual club room, you can see other players' avatars, as well as who's awake and who's still sleeping. Tapping the sleeping players' avatars will "cheer"...

Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable Invades PlayStation Vita Today

100°
98w ago - D3Publisher Assistant Producer Miki Takahashi has confirmed that Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable officially invades PlayStation Vita today!

Below are the details, to quote: I hope everyone had good holidays with your friends and families, but it's time to kick-start your gaming new year. Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable will be available for $39.99 in North America as a digital PS Vita download when the PSN update goes live later today.

Earth Defense Force 2017 first landed on US soil in 2007. With its addictive and exhilarating bug-squashing gameplay, the Japanese developer Sandlot succeeded in catching the attention of gamers.

Now, thanks to the high performance of PS Vita, we are able to bring the EDF world to the handheld console with many new additions including online co-op and versus modes, new missions, enemies and weapons, and a new playable character in Pale Wing.

The game has a total of 60 missions, including seven new missions. Each mission can be played on five difficulty levels; Easy, Normal, Hard, Hardest, and Inferno. Yes, you're reading this right. "Inferno" is harder than the "hardest"! At first, you might feel "Inferno" is insanely difficult, but don't worry.

The more difficult levels you play, the stronger weapons you'll get. By the time...

98w ago - XSEED Localization Specialist Tom Lipschultz has posted up a video today spotlighting Corpse Party: Book of Shadows for PSP and PS Vita which is incoming next week with details below.

To quote: Well, the time is almost upon us. A week from today - Tuesday, January 15th, 2013 - Corpse Party: Book of Shadows will be available for purchase on the North American PlayStation Store for $19.99, with a European release to follow shortly thereafter.

It's been a long journey getting this game to you guys, so it seemed prudent to give you all a bit more information about it. After all, an appetite for blood and dismay is at its best when thoroughly whetted.

And since each chapter in Corpse Party: Book of Shadows tells its own standalone story, I thought the best way to make you salivate even more would be to give a brief, spoiler-free introduction to each one. So without further ado, here's a taste of what's in store for you when you fire up your PSP (or PS Vita) next week.

Chapter 1: Seal

An important introduction to the "alternate universe" within which several of the game's chapters take place. What if our poor Kisaragi High protagonists went into Heavenly Host Elementary School (the cursed...
