Video: Killzone: Mercenary Hits PS Vita September 17, New Trailer

200°
94w ago - Guerrilla Games Producer Poria Torkan has confirmed today that Killzone: Mercenary hits PS Vita on September 17th alongside unveiling a new trailer and screenshots below!

To quote: Killzone: Mercenary is scheduled for a September 17, 2013 release in North America.

Killzone: Mercenary is a new first-person shooter in the Killzone series, developed specifically for the PlayStation Vita platform and powered by the stunning Killzone engine.

Starting just after the ending of the original Killzone, and revisiting many of the events from the Killzone trilogy, the game puts players in the rugged combat boots of a mercenary named Arran Danner. Danner is a former UCA-soldier who has no qualms about taking on paid contracts from the ISA as well as the Helghast.

When a seemingly routine mission to evacuate the Vektan Ambassador and his family in Pyrrhus goes awry, Danner discovers that the outcome of the war could very well depend on the fate of the Ambassador's young son.

With both sides going to increasingly desperate lengths to get hold of the boy, he begins to wonder whether the price of victory is really worth the paycheck.

Video: Ghoulish Platformer Dokuro Charms on PS Vita This Week

94w ago - GungHo Online Entertainment Community Coordinator Antonio Cara has shared a video trailer today announcing that ghoulish platformer Dokuro charms on PS Vita this week.

Below are the details, to quote: After enjoying accolades like "Original Game of the Year" and "Best Vita Puzzle Game" in the US, Dokuro finally brings his chalky goodness across the Atlantic Ocean this week. Players in the EU and Australia can finally enjoy Dokuro's 147 levels of puzzles, platforms, spikes and saw blades.

My past blog entries in the States discussed the story and gameplay at great length, so for our European friends I'd like to talk a bit more about development of this winsome title.

For those unfamiliar with the game, its story revolves around Dokuro, a skeletal member of the Dark Lord's army, who makes the career change from peon to hero after witnessing the tears of a captive Princess.

Filled with newfound determination, Dokuro begins his daring rescue. Unfortunately, the Princess doesn't even seem to notice he's there until he quaffs a magical potion that gives him a heroic new appearance and the capacity for fancy sword play.

By swapping forms, players make use of Dokuro's skeleton and hero forms to solve puzzles and battle foes while safely guiding the...

Video: Doodle God Launches on PlayStation Vita Today, Trailer Out

100°
95w ago - SPL Game Designer Konstantin Feofanov has posted up a video trailer announcing that Doodle God is launching on PlayStation Vita today.

Below are the details, to quote: Hello to all the happy owners of PS Vita. I'm Konstantin Feofanov, game designer at SPL, the studio behind the popular Doodle God series, which is available on your system from today, priced at £4.79/€5.99.

This project was very interesting for us, since we not only got the opportunity to carefully transfer the gameplay of this funny game, but also to use the best features of PS Vita without making the game overly complicated, but more addictive and friendly to our players.

The essence of the game is simple yet complex. You are a god, standing at the threshold of new discoveries. You have an empty, bare world before you, begging to be filled, and there are indeed lots of things to fill it with.

Starting with ordinary things like marshes and mountains, our new god will uncover the secrets of the human soul, study the tricky concepts of magic and discover the fascinating world of science.

All of it can be completed by combining various elements, like air or fire. There is a twist to it, though: the player starts out on the long road of creation with only four elements, but will end up with...
