Sony Announces Open Me! for PS Vita is Coming to North America

100°
97w ago - Sony Associate Producer Dais Kawaguchi announced today that Open Me for PS Vita is coming to North America!

Below are the details, as follows: The creative minds in PlayStation C.A.M.P! have created an entirely original puzzle game exclusively for PS Vita, and it's created a strong buzz since its debut at Tokyo Game Show last Fall.

Today, we're announcing that OPEN ME! an addictive augmented reality puzzle game for PS Vita, is coming to North America later this year.

The goal in OPEN ME! is simple - open the box and collect the items inside. This may sound easy, but these boxes are full of traps; players will need to use Vita's augmented reality features to look closely at the boxes from every direction, looking for the slightest hint on how to open them.

By using PS Vita's cameras and smart augmented reality technology, the elusive box will appear on the screen in seconds. Touch the screen to open the box, but be careful, the lids of some boxes are razor sharp and they will shut tight if you fail.

Boxes range from a simple wooden box to a more sophisticated box made of metal, each with its own unique tricks to opening the box. Examples of challenges include stacking colorful boxes from the inside of a larger box, or exploring and disarming a box's security...

Dead or Alive 5 Plus on PlayStation Vita Today, Team Ninja Q&A

100°
97w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Justin Massongill shared a Q&A from Team Ninja for Dead or Alive 5 Plus which arrives on PlayStation Vita today.

To quote: Dead or Alive, Team Ninja's long-running fighting game franchise, is getting its first PS Vita installment today in the form of Dead or Alive 5 Plus. How does one pack a game of this magnitude into a portable form factor?

Do any concessions need to be made to keep everything steady at 60FPS? What new features can we expect, given PS Vita's unique capabilities? We synced up with Yohei Shimbori of Team Ninja, who graciously answered these questions and more.

PlayStation.Blog: What has been your experience in terms of developing Dead or Alive 5 Plus for PS Vita? Have you had to make many concessions, or were you able to port the entire PS3 game over with minimal changes?

Yohei Shimbori, Director, Team Ninja: Certain elements of Dead or Alive 5 Plus (DOA5+) were relatively smooth in porting it to the PS Vita from the PS3. However, as you may notice from games already on the market today, a complete port in terms of graphics and physics remains a challenge which was also the case for DOA5+.

Fluid fighting motion and stellar graphics are all staples of the Dead or Alive franchise, so delivering anything...

To quote: [Register or Login to view links] may be best known for publishing the Harvest Moon and Reel Fishing series, but we're always on the lookout for novel and innovative titles for our growing audience.

We plan for 2013 to be a banner year for unique titles, and Carnage Heart EXA, out tomorrow for $29.99, is the first of several PSP titles we'll be bringing to our fans in both North America and Europe.

PlayStation Network lets us bring titles to gamers who are increasingly looking for unique and different types of games. Carnage Heart EXA is just such a game!

Carnage Heart first appeared on PlayStation way back in 1997. Carnage Heart EXA continues the tradition of the franchise with the same style of gameplay, but builds upon it with improved graphics, updated chips, and interface mechanics, and a larger stable of Overkill Engine types.

In addition, this time around players can actually control the OKEs (Overkill Engines)! It's a polished version of the original dream Artdink had, and we're pleased to be working closely with them to bring the game to a worldwide audience....

97w ago - Today Laurent Mercure at Frima Studio has announced alongside a video trailer that Holy Guns! Nun Attack is coming to PS Vita tomorrow.

Below are the details, as follows: We're proud to be bringing the beloved gun-wielding nuns from our hit mobile game Nun Attack to PlayStation Vita. Eons have passed since the power-thirsty Fallen Nun took over the mortal world, spawning evil across the land.

In a world where evil is taking over and prayers are no longer answered, there is only one type of divine intervention left, and it's armed to the teeth!

In this epic tactical action game, intuitive touch-screen controls direct your holy squad through fast-paced combat while they unleash a fury of biblical proportions. Lead Eva the leader, Rosy the slayer, Olga the tank and Mandy the healer to defeat the Fallen Nun and restore balance to the world.

Nun Attack for PS Vita is not a simple port; we've adapted the game to provide a great experience on the handheld. We've upgraded the graphics a notch, and entirely redesigned the difficulty of the levels since we've removed all of the micro-transaction mechanics.

Nun Attack PS Vita features:

• Challenging tactical action and reflexive...

98w ago - Amanita Design Founder Jakub Dvorsky has announced that acclaimed Indie adventure Machinarium is coming to PS Vita on March 26th, 2013.

Below are the details, to quote: We're thrilled to be bringing our acclaimed adventure title [Register or Login to view links] to PS Vita.

When the [Register or Login to view links] was released, we called it the best version of the game.

In it, we added lots of new features - like the ability to zoom in to get a closer look at the scene, magnetic hotspots, Trophies and more.

The Vita version makes no compromises. In fact, it's even better! It includes all the enhancements from the PS3 version, but we've added some new features to complement PS Vita's capabilities.

You can now control the game not only with the system's analog sticks and buttons, but also directly with your fingers on the touch screen and rear touch panel. We've improved the zoom feature too, so it's more convenient to play the game in a portable capacity.
