201w ago - SCEE's Sponsorship & Events Manager Carl Christopher-Ansari has shared a video announcement today on their new PlayStation Game Runners and Next Level Street Gaming project, as follows:

[Register or Login to view links] is an experimental project where PlayStation, members of the public and young people from diverse backgrounds come together to create social games. We at PlayStation believe that the best games are played as a group.

The project has been developed by PlayStation and Hide & Seek with a team of eight initial Game Runners who have been picked to train as game designers and work to make the games relevant.

There are three games in development: Flags, Blocks and Hoops. The games are in prototype stage and there will be a series of playtests to develop the games. You can get involved in [Register or Login to view links], where you can learn about the different games, meet the Game Runners and get involved. Fans are invited to comment on the games and support The Game Runners.

The most popular game - as decided by the fans - will be selected and put forward into development and then put into...

50°
214w ago - Vice President of Development for Creat Studios Scott Hyman has confirmed today that the Smash Cars: Virus Run add-on DLC pack for PS3 is incoming- arriving to PSN in North America for $2.99 on June 8, 2010.

To quote: Surely you already know about Smash Cars, our tricked-out RC car racing game, right? Right?

Our new DLC tosses in some great new features to enhance that fast-paced experience.

The new Smash Cars: Virus Run features an all-new online racing mode for up to six players to battle to the finish line. But this time, one randomly selected player quickly becomes the group's foe!

The "infected" car rushes the racetrack with the ability to contaminate other players. When the infected player hits an opponent's car, the victim joins the effort.

And, just to make things even more interesting, we tossed in a new Skate Park at the center of the island, complete with half-pipes and springboards to perfect your trick and stunt skills during the Virus Run mode.

Adding to the tears of joy (or fear) we know you're all shedding, TikGames-Creat Studios is thrilled to show how we've been listening to all of you that have sent countless emails, blog responses, bulletin-board posts and screams from rooftops.

We're including the...

To quote: I'm the lead designer of Brunswick Pro Bowling and undisputed bowling champion of [Register or Login to view links]!

Well, Jeff Rice, the lead programmer of our bowling game is pretty darn good too, so he might dispute my title. More than half of our studio bowls regularly in a weekly league up here in Big Bear Lake, CA so most of us are decent bowlers and huge fans of the sport.

We are all very excited to be working with [Register or Login to view links] and [Register or Login to view links] to make the definitive bowling game.

A big part of that excitement has to do with the real world data we get from the PlayStation Move motion controller. For more details how perfect the PlayStation Move is for Brunswick Pro Bowling, check out the video below.

There are many different styles to bowling and thanks to accuracy of the PlayStation Move, we can mimic the technique of all types of throws.

Whether you throw a huge hook or toss a straight ball at rocket speed, the...

Video: Android Mobile Operating System Running on iPhone 2G!

350°
220w ago - Planetbeing is back on the iPhone scene and brought us Android fully working on the iPhone 2G.

I don't know about you guys, but for me these are some nice news.

Here is his blog post, to quote: "I've been working on this quietly in the background. Sorry about the initial video quality, but YouTube promises that the quality will get better as the video gets processed more. The back part of the version I uploaded to Vimeo was cut off.

I think that says it all, really. Donations via paypal to planetbeing at gmail.com. If you'd like to help, come join #iphonelinux on irc.osx86.hu.

Thanks to CPICH for reversing support, harmn1, posixninja, jean, marcan and saurik for patches, and last but not least, TheSeven for his work on the FTL.

Pre-built images and sources at http://www.mediafire.com/?xqjzn12igfn. Read the README. For generic openiboot instructions, there's plenty now that you can search for.

It should be pretty simple to port forward to the iPhone 3G. The 3GS will take more work. Hopefully with all this groundwork laid out, we can make Android a real alternative or supplement for iPhone users. Maybe we can finally get Flash. "
