Rumor: ESRB Reveals Delta Force: Urban Warfare Heads to PSN

50°
234w ago - The Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) have recently rated a shooter named Delta Force: Urban Warfare, originally released for the PlayStation 2 and PSOne back in 2002, for the PS3 and PSP which means it's likely to be heading to PSN.

For those unaware, Delta Force: Urban Warfare was first created by Alien vs Predator developer Rebellion.

To quote: "Last week we brought you the news that a PlayStation 2 title could make a triumphant comeback to the PS3 next year, but Delta Force: Urban Warfare is more likely to release in the coming months on the PlayStation Network.

As it's still unannounced for PSN though, we'll nudge Sony for comment."

Rumor: XBox 360 Slim Model with Valhalla Chipset Uncovered?

650°
235w ago - Kotaku is reporting on what appears to be a rumored XBox 360 slim model featuring a Valhalla chipset today.

Speculation is currently underway as to whether the [Register or Login to view links] of the picture is a legitimate Chinese leak ala PS3 Slim, or a hoax.

To quote: "These pictures apparently show the guts of a new model of the Xbox 360. The important bits? The fact that for the first time the console combines the CPU and the GPU in a single chip. Oh, and it's small.

The pic shows the board in question, with the chip part of a rumoured redesign for the Xbox 360 console, testing of which has recently been completed in China.

This isn't simply a new board for the existing hardware, either; it's reportedly a total redesign of the console. Think the PS3 Slim, only... for an Xbox 360.

Now, considering the source, there's every reason to be sceptical of the images, and the info. Then again, with Natal due later this year, rebooting the 360 itself to go along with it would make a lot of sense, especially if a reduction in size could come with a reduction in cost."

Rumor: Best Buy Listing Indicates PS3 to Go 3D in July 2010

550°
235w ago - Last week reports surfaced that the upcoming PS3 3D Firmware update would arrive in June, and today retailer Best Buy has let slip the date of July.

Sony has previously confirmed that a simple PS3 Firmware update is all that is required to make the PlayStation 3 system compatible with 3D gaming.

Unfortunately, no specific timeframe was ever given for the anticipated patch until today.

To quote: "On a 3D FAQ page, Best Buy has given the first solid timeframe for the PS3 3D patch.

Clicking on the first tab of [Register or Login to view links] will reveal the following tidbit:

To watch 3D Blu-ray Discs, you'll need to add a 3D-ready Blu-ray player (or update your PS3 with the appropriate firmware when it becomes available in July).

Yup, that's right. Best Buy seems to have let the cat slip a bit early; either mistakenly or intentionally."

236w ago - Update: According to [Register or Login to view links], the XBox 360 may also gain USB storage support in the upcoming 2010 update!

Today GamingBolt.com (linked above) is reporting that they have received an image of a new XBox 360 dashboard update on the way, namely version 2.0.9195.0.

Aside from the picture below there is no other evidence to support this claim, but many users feel it indeed looks legitimate so only time will tell for sure.

To quote: "Gamingbolt has been tipped off that a new XBox 360 dashboard update is coming soon, as we have a photo to prove it.

An image was sent in which appears to show a new XBox 360 dashboard.

The update appears to have been accidentally added by Microsoft after a console repair. Judging by the screenshot we can guess that the next dashboard update will be 2.0.9195.0."

236w ago - Update: Today SCEJ has [Register or Login to view links] the rumor, as discovered by [Register or Login to view links], along with the initial PS3 3D titles previously announced.

Just under a month ago we reported on an upcoming PS3 Firmware update that includes a 3D video output option, and today Japanese site [Register or Login to view links] claim that it will arrive on June 10, 2010.

To quote: "The update, which we're assuming will coincide with the launch of the LX900 television, will also unlock 3D Blu-ray movie viewing.

You'll need a compatible set (and those glasses) to see the 3D, though."

For those curious, PS3 Devs have confirmed that Debug update 3.20 weighs in at 149 MB (156,756,437 bytes) and that 3.21 is also already making its rounds... hopefully a leak will follow, eh?
