Video: Ratchet And Clank: A Crack In Time PS3 Teaser Trailer

250°
264w ago - Insomniac's next game is Ratchet And Clank Future: A Crack In Time, making 2009 the fourth year of leapfrogging between the Resistance and Ratchet And Clank franchises.

The game was announced via press release during GDC, but game assets were nowhere to be found. Thankfully we haven't had to wait long before this teaser trailer, available below.

The trailer doesn't show a lot, though there is a lot of narration about the nature of time involved. We're hoping there's a sufficiently mind-bendy-time-paradoxy storyline in the final game.

While most of the visuals in the trailer revolve around various pipes and cogs, we do get a glimpse of a mysterious pocketwatch, as seen below, and an elderly lombax.

Are those Ratchet's parents? Who's the flying, growly voiced lombax? We're looking forward to finding out this autumn.

GDC '09: Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time Announced

264w ago - Insomniac Games Community Relations Manager James Stevenson has announced that Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time is heading to the PS3 in Autumn 2009:

Greetings from the SCEA Blogger's Lounge at GDC! We are very happy at Insomniac to finally announce the name of our next game.

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time will conclude the story arc that started in Tools of Destruction and continued in Quest for Booty. There will be plenty to talk about over the next few months as we work towards our fall release, and we can't wait to share more.

But for those of you wanting a first look, tune into Gametrailers TV this week on Spike TV (check your local listings for time) for the world premiere of the teaser trailer.

For those of you who have been e-mailing us with questions about the Weapons Contest and asking when and where you can submit, you'll be happy to know that submissions are open as of tomorrow!

I'm also excited to announce the Grand Prize winner will have their weapon included in Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, will be given a life-size replica of the weapon, and will win a trip to San Diego Comic-Con to meet with...

Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty Blu-ray Cancelled in UK

100°
292w ago - Update: The Blu-ray will still be released in other European countries, but not the United Kingdom. Additionally, Insomniac Games' Community Manager James Stevenson has provided a reason at games forum NeoGAF.

"It's partially due to broadband penetration being strong in the UK, therefore it wasn't seen as needed". He also mentions that Ireland will receive Blu-ray copies at retail, if you're really craving for a hard copy.

A Sony Europe representative confirmed to BritishGaming.co.uk that Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty will no longer be heading to United Kingdom retail stores on a Blu-Ray disc.

The 3-4 hour epilogue was released on the Playstation Store on August 21st, but was initially announced for a full retail release on September 12th.

After noticing that no British stores had the game for pre-order, we contacted Sony and received this email:

"R&C: QFB won't be released in the UK on Blu-ray I'm afraid."

Quest for Booty is still available on Playstation Network for £9.99

Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty uses 3.2GB not 2.3GB HDD Space

296w ago - It looks as if PS3 owners better clear some more of their hard drives as Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty is actually 3.2GB and not 2.3GB as gaming Web sites previously reported.

To quote: As we reported yesterday, Ratchet & Clank: Quest For Booty hits PSN this Thursday with a Blu-ray release following in September. Look out for our review later in the week.

Better start making room on your hard drive PS3 gamers, Ratchet & Clank: Quest For Booty is actually 3.2GB and not 2.3GB as previously reported.

We had a bit of a shock when we went to download our review copy earlier today - the 3181MB download weighs in at around 30% larger than we had been expecting.

Just to clarify, we've downloaded the European version. It's possible that the US version may still weigh in at 2.3GB because of the increased language support needed for the EU release, but we've not yet had any official confirmation.

Rumor: New Ratchet & Clank Title Slated for PSN

50°
307w ago - It has yet to be officially announced, but apparently it's real. A logo for an all-new Ratchet offering entitled "Ratchet & Clank: En Busca del Tesoro," which roughly translates to "In Search of Treasure," has appeared on the pages of the Spanish Web site linked above via Macrike.

Last March, a leaked SCEE PSN release schedule made mention of "Ratchet Quest For Booty." We're inclined to believe that this is the same game.

Now to wait for Insomniac's inevitable announcement. :P
