Roll7 Announces OlliOlli Launches Today for PlayStation Vita

50°
26w ago - Roll7 Director Tom Hegarty announces that OlliOlli launches today for PlayStation Vita with details below.

To quote: OlliOlli is out today, exclusive to PlayStation Vita for $12.99. Those of you with a PlayStation Plus account will get a 20% discount on that price for the first week.

We're super chuffed (yes, chuffed, we're chuffed), we can't wait to get your feedback and see what scores you post, especially on the Daily Grind. We're giving you a five-day head start before Nikos, our senior coder, is allowed near a Vita and starts busting some serious high-scoring moves. You have been warned...

Once everyone has trained up enough and we start to see some ludicrous scores, we'll be running a competition to see who can get the highest score on a particular day of the Daily Grind. The lucky winner will receive one of our exclusive (There's literally only two of them!) OlliOlli Skateboard, Helmet, and MANDATORY First Aid Safety kit, but more about that soon!

We really hope you enjoy OlliOlli. We poured a lot of love, time, and devotion into this project, and we hope that shows!

Necrosoft Games: How to Kick Butt in Gunhouse on PlayStation Vita

27w ago - Necrosoft Games Director Brandon Sheffield reveals how to kick butt in Gunhouse on PS Vita today!

To quote: Hey pals! I'm happy to announce that Gunhouse is available now on PlayStation Mobile! We've got music by Disasterpeace of Fez fame, code by the guy that made [Register or Login to view links], and design by yours truly.

I'm here to give you some Hot Tips to excel at Gunhouse, which is a pseudo-turn-based, puzzle game/tower defense sort of hybrid. The aim of Gunhouse is to protect your precious orphans from these mechanical alien invaders, who want to eat your dang orphans. Why!? Who would do such a thing?

What you have to do in a nutshell, is make big ammo blocks within the puzzle grid inside the house. Slide smaller blocks to the left and right - you can slide as many or as few smaller blocks as you like, and use the power of gravity to fuse four similar blocks into a 2X2 big block! Or 2X3! Or if you're a super pro, 6X3!

Then you have to slide blocks to the left to load the guns on the front of your house. You can also slide blocks to the right to load special attacks on the back of your house. Once the door shuts on your puzzle grid, it's time for action.

Enemies will come from the left side of the screen, and you tap your...

Ludometrics Announces Bodycheck is Coming to PlayStation Vita

50°
27w ago - Ludometrics Founder David Thomson announced today that Bodycheck is coming to PlayStation Vita!

To quote: Hiya. I'm David, the de-facto Chief Person at Ludometrics, based in Glasgow, Scotland. The team here has been around for a long time in various forms, prior to teaming up again at Ludometrics; we originally made games for mobile phones way back last century, if you can imagine that.

Today, though, I'm here to tell you about Bodycheck, a game I've been waiting to make for quite a long time. Sometimes, as it's said, all you need is a little patience.

Bodycheck is a sports game for people who don't necessarily like sports. Personally, I'm a fan of sports. I can sports with the best of them. But I find most sports games of recent years lack a certain something-something. Perhaps they're not physical enough, or they manage not to capture the chaos of play, or sometimes they're just a bit ponderous.

Bodycheck will (hopefully) contain that certain something-something. I love reading about the origins of football in the Middle Ages, with 500 players per team and matches lasting days - and the ball was actually a pig's head.

We won't have that many players per team in the game, and matches will be a tad shorter, but punching, scratching, and general unnecessary roughness...

Energy Hook is Coming to PS4 and PlayStation Vita in 2014

50°
28w ago - To quote: Chief Scientist Jamie Fristrom at Happion Laboratories announced today that Energy Hook is coming to both PS4 and PlayStation Vita platforms in 2014.

To quote: Being an independent game developer sure has been a bumpy ride. After making Spider-Man 2, I quit my sweet gig at Activision to see if I could make games my own way, on my own terms.

I've been through a lot since then! I founded a company with a friend. We built it up, had several employees, health insurance, and everything only to see it come crashing down.

So now I'm on my own again, starting over from scratch. But maybe things are turning around? By revisiting the coolest thing I've ever done - swinging game mechanics - and launching an unorthodox Kickstarter for the game, called Energy Hook, my new company Happion Labs seems to be on an upward trajectory.

And the latest piece of good news: I'm going to be able to bring Energy Hook to PS4 and PS Vita!

So, what's Energy Hook? Well, imagine a 3D swinging game like Spider-Man 2 had a love child with "points-for-style" game SSX. You swing from rooftop to rooftop, pull off mid-air tricks, run along walls, and rack up points and energy for doing it. Because: it's the future.

And that's what the extreme sports of the future look like....

Video: OlliOlli for PlayStation Vita Drops in on January 21st, 2014

50°
28w ago - Roll7 Director Tom Hegarty posted up a video today announcing that OlliOlli for PlayStation Vita drops in on January 21st, 2014.

To quote: We've finally finished OlliOlli, and what's even better, we now have a release date: January 21st!

As you may know, this our first PS Vita game, so it's been a big challenge for us - a challenge that's been well worth it (and we hope you'll think so, too). We originally planned to launch before the holiday, but due to some technical issues we had to push back.

We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who patiently supported us throughout 2013, including fans, press, and all the crew at PlayStation - especially Shahid and Spencer.

Now that we're on the path to releasing OlliOlli into the wild, it seems pertinent to give you the final details about all four modes and the game's Trophies (in case you didn't see them when they accidentally leaked last month)!

Career Mode: 50 deviously handcrafted levels split between Amateur and Pro. The further you progress, the more accuracy and timing you'll need to reach the adoring crowd at the end of each run.

Each level has five challenges, including Combo and Score attacks, and is linked to its own global leaderboard. Think you can get that number one spot?...
