Warner Bros Confirms Batman: Arkham City is Coming in 2011

228w ago - Warner Bros confirmed today the title and release window for the next Batman videogame developed by Rocksteady Studios, namely Batman: Arkham City which is coming next fall to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

As the title implies, Batman is headed to Gotham City for the sequel, which has now become the new maximum security "home" for all of the city's criminals. Not much else was revealed.

WB says the game will feature a brand-new story, include a new cast of classic characters and villains, and new enhanced gameplay features.

To quote: The (amazing) covers of the new GameInformer confirms Catwoman will be in Arkham City, and by the looks of it, will be playing a major role in the story.

Arkham City was one of several names registered for the game picked up on last month. Two other confirmed villains so far include Mr. Freeze, played by voice actor Maurice LaMarche, and Talia al Ghul - daughter of Ra's al Ghul - played by actress Stana Katic.

Actor Mark Hamill confirmed it us in an interview last May he'll be reprising his role as the voice of Joker for the game for the last time ever. "This will be my last, there's no question about that," he said. "But it's the last hurrah."
 

Sony Confirms PlayStation Move UK Pricing & Starter Pack Details

229w ago - A few weeks back Sony announced PlayStation Move PS3 motion controller bundles and pricing for North America, and today they have confirmed UK pricing and Starter Pack details.

To quote from VG247.com (linked above): The Motion Controller itself will be £34.99, while the Sub Controller will be £24.99. The PlayStation Eye will cost £24.99.

There will also be a £49.99 bundle featuring the Motion Controller, the Eye and a starter disc.

The disc will contain, as well as an instructional video, the following demos on the disc:

• Sports Champions
• Start the Party!
• The Shoot
• EyePet: Move Edition
• TV Superstars
• Tiger Woods PGA TOUR ® 11 (English only)

• Tumble (PSN title)
• Beat Sketchers (PSN title)

Sony's been keen to point out this morning that the Sub Controller isn't necessary to play Move-enabled games: you can use a DualShock instead.

PlayStation Move launches on September 15 in Europe, September 18 in the US and on October 21 in Japan.

Sony Confirms PS3 Firmware 3.40 Arrives June 22 and More!

235w ago - Update: According to both [Register or Login to view links] and [Register or Login to view links], Sony has confirmed that cross-game voice chat is currently not part of PlayStation Plus.

Today a sleuth from TheGamerAccess.com (linked above) has spotted as part of an E3 2010 press release confirmation by Sony that the rumored PS3 Firmware 3.40 update will arrive on June 22, 2010 and likely will include the long-awaited PS3 cross-game voice chat!

To quote from the Press Release: "PlayStation users can purchase PlayStation Plus membership through PlayStation Store on PS3 only.

Users need to install PS3 system software version 3.40, which will be released on June 22nd, to enjoy PlayStation Plus."

Finally, to further substantiate this news, on Sony's official Portugese Web site it states: "Cross-game Voice Chat: invite your friends to chat online no matter what game you're all playing,...
 

Sega Confirms Yakuza 4 Coming Exclusively to PS3 in Spring 2011

236w ago - Today Sega of America's Assistant Community Manager Aaron Webber has confirmed that Yakuza 4 is coming exclusively to PS3 in Spring, 2011.

To quote: After some amazing passion seen across the board from fans regarding the release of Yakuza 3, [Register or Login to view links] is proud to announce that the fourth installment of the Yakuza series is heading West, and will be releasing exclusively on the PlayStation 3 in the spring of 2011!
