100°
15w ago - Sony VP of Platforms Marketing John Koller announced at E3 2014 today that several new free-to-play titles are coming to PlayStation!

Below are all the details, to quote: We firmly believe that the best game development ideas can come from anywhere and anyone, and as the brand that stands for gamers, we want to make it easy for gamers to step outside of their comfort zones and experience these new types of games.

Tonight at our E3 Press Conference, we announced more good news for gamers: with the help of our amazing Worldwide Studios team and third-party partners, PlayStation is introducing a robust catalogue of Free-to-Play (F2P) games with a goal of offering more ways for gamers to discover and connect with a larger variety of titles and experiences.

The PlayStation F2P initiative will give gamers the opportunity to try a variety of games that they may have not otherwise played, at no cost or financial commitment. We'll leave it up to you, the gamer, to decide how much you want to invest in the game.

The development community was central to PS4 platform development and ultimately has helped us create an expansive library of unique experiences. The F2P initiative is another testament to what makes PlayStation a leader in the industry. From Triple-A blockbusters like...

Roll7: Not a Hero is Coming to PS4 and PlayStation Vita, Details

15w ago - Roll7's Jamie is here from E3 2014 with details on Not a Hero, which is coming to PS4 and PlayStation Vita platforms.

To quote: Hey, Jamie from Roll7 here! Did you see us? We were shown at the E3 Sony Press Conference! How cool is that?!

We're incredibly excited about bringing our next game to the fantastic PlayStation Nation. Not A Hero is looking better and better every day, and it wouldn't be possible without John Ribbins, Not A Hero's creator and lead developer.

Now, tracking down John can be hard sometimes - especially in the midst of pre-E3 craziness - but we really wanted to reveal some exclusive Not A Hero news for you guys, so we sat him down for a few minutes and grabbed what we could before he flew out with a skateboard under his arm to hook up with Devolver and their carnival of E3 delights.

ON NOT A HERO'S CHARACTERS...

Not A Hero, in a way, is a very character-driven game because all of our playable characters come from different backgrounds, feel distinct and play very differently. In some cases, it's brought on by special abilities; slow reloading, different guns, speed etc. We want to make it so every character brings something different to the table.

The first playable character you meet is Steve, and he's a standard issue,...

To quote: The press conference at E3 2014 was a big one for us. We revealed not one but two trailers for PS4 projects we're currently developing. There was a very important announcement for The Last of Us Remastered:

Video: No Man's Sky Coming to PS4, New PS4 Trailer Revealed

15w ago - Hello Games Managing Director Sean Murray posted up a new PlayStation 4 trailer video for No Man's Sky which is coming to PS4 as confirmed at E3 2014 today.

To quote: Hello! My name is Sean Murray, and I'm part of an independent studio called Hello Games.

You might know us from a game called Joe Danger. That's the only time I've been on the blog before. Sony was incredibly supportive of us back then, when we were just starting out as four friends, making our first game.

Now Sony is putting our next game, called No Man's Sky, on the biggest stage in the world of videogames... and I'm feeling pretty sick with nerves.

I'm writing this during the rehearsals for Sony's E3 keynote. I've never been before, just watched every year from home. It's a lot bigger in real life.

No Man's Sky is a science-fiction game coming to PS4. It's incredibly ambitious and set in a vast universe we have created.

It's a game without limits. If you see a mountain, you can trek there. From that mountain, if you see another planet hanging on the horizon, that's a real place, with its own ecology. You can get in your ship, fly into space and it's yours to explore. Not just that, but every star in the sky...

15w ago - Sony YouTube Product Manager Sarah Ali announced that YouTube is coming to PS4 / PlayStation 4 this year!

Below is the full scoop straight from E3 2014, as follows:

Happy E3! As you may have heard during PlayStation's press conference, the YouTube team has been working hard to bring YouTube to PlayStation 4, where you can find and play all of YouTube including music videos, gaming videos, live streams and more. Today, we're delighted to announce that YouTube is coming to PS4 this fall!

Sharing your greatest gaming moments on YouTube will be a piece of cake on PS4, thanks to the dedicated sharing capabilities at the very heart of PS4.

YouTube will officially be one of the social options offered when you press the SHARE button on your DualShock 4. After pressing SHARE, you'll see the YouTube icon pop up alongside Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, and Ustream, and in just a couple of quick steps, you can go from playing your favorite games to publishing videos on your own YouTube channel. You'll also be able to see your friends' shared YouTube videos using the "What's New" feed.

In addition to the integrated sharing functionality, a YouTube app on PS4 will become available (just like on PS3) where you can access your favorite YouTube channels, videos and personalities....
