Capcom: Monster Hunter G to Include Monster Hunter 3 Demo

50°
310w ago - Capcom has revealed that Monster Hunter G will be available on April 23, 2009. It has also been revealed that the game will also come with a demo for the upcoming Monster Hunter 3.

To quote: Capcom announced today final release and pricing details for Monster Hunter G. The Wii version of the 2005 PlayStation 2 Monster Hunter update will arrive on April 23 carrying a price point of 3,990 yen.

Online play for the game will not be free, Capcom also confirmed today. While not sharing specifics, the company said that players will use WiiPoints for online play transactions.

Perhaps bigger than the release date and pricing news, however, is news on what's included with the game. All copies of Monster Hunter G will come with two items: a promotional card for the Monster Hunter Hunting Card card game, and a demo for the upcoming Monster Hunter 3.

Capcom Comments on PS3 Street Fighter 4 Load Times

200°
311w ago - Capcom Senior Community Manager Seth Killian was on the [Register or Login to view links] recently to clear up some things about the PlayStation 3 version of Street Fighter 4, and here are his comments:

What's up with the load times on PlayStation 3 version of Street Fighter IV?

Seth: The recently shown builds were final in terms of contents, but were not actual retail discs. They are development ROM discs, which play on development kits.

Dev kit units are known to be a bit trickier than retail, and things occasionally have odd glitches there, but regardless of any she-said, he-said nonsense, when everything is working right, nobody noticed any differences between PS3 and Xbox load times (this was explicitly measured by Gamespot during TGS, since they couldn't find any graphical differences to complain about, but they didn't see load time differences either).

Capcom had PS3 and Xbox SFIV running literally side by side all week at CES with no shame - if there had been some loading difference between the two the hundreds of press who came through would have been all over it, and we might have even tried to avoid putting the two machines near one another.

We didn't because the game loads perfectly fast on both systems, especially...

Capcom Confirms Resident Evil 5 Demo on XBox 360 for the US

50°
315w ago - Capcom has announced an actual US version of the Resident Evil 5 demo that has been available since last month in Japan, the one that many tried to download and play before Microsoft went and pulled the plug.

Capcom announced it at their Co-op Multiplayer event in San Francisco last night, stating that the US demo will be released early 2009.

Additionally, Capcom has confirmed that the demo will also be seeing a PlayStation 3 release without a specific date given.

The event also showcased some unseen levels, and I'm sure details will emerge of those soon. More to come as it's available!

Capcom Unveils a Real Bionic Arm from Japan

100°
317w ago - Capcom USA has unveiled their delivery of a real Bionic Arm from Japan. Check it out below, modeled by Capcom's resident babe Marisol.

To quote: Today, we got the Bionic Arm. It came in a crate with some mysterious Japanese writing (probably a warning of the pure awesome inside), and a dead give-a-way in english as it says "Bionic Arm" in big letters.

Marisol was kind enough to strap on this prop for some pics to show off how cool this thing is. It would have been cooler if I could have found the button for the lights. But there's no obvious switch on there that says "lights."

Instead I spent a good five minutes pressing things that looked like they could be buttons while it was sitting on my desk(I was guarding it from the droolers). As I was looking, I realized just how much detail went into this piece of equipment.

Every rivet, bolt, screw, the hosing... It's all hand painted down to the most minute detail. The arm is an exact match to the arm you'll be using when you pick up Bionic Commando.
