289w ago - Capcom Europe has revealed its release dates and/or windows for all of its first quarter games today. You can see the info in handy list format below.

Looks like Capcom is single handedly making Q1 2009 a real gaming event, with plenty to sink your teeth into, even despite inFamous and Killzone 2 being released during the same period.

• Flock - February
• Street Fighter IV - February 20th
• Resident Evil 5 - March 13th
• Bionic Commando - March (It's not March anymore. Rather, it'll be in the first half of '09)

The American release dates are as follows:

• Flock - Early 2009
• Street Fighter IV - February 17th
• Resident Evil 5 - March 13th
• Bionic Commando - Early 2009

Capcom Confirms Resident Evil 5 Demo on XBox 360 for the US

50°
292w ago - Capcom has announced an actual US version of the Resident Evil 5 demo that has been available since last month in Japan, the one that many tried to download and play before Microsoft went and pulled the plug.

Capcom announced it at their Co-op Multiplayer event in San Francisco last night, stating that the US demo will be released early 2009.

Additionally, Capcom has confirmed that the demo will also be seeing a PlayStation 3 release without a specific date given.

The event also showcased some unseen levels, and I'm sure details will emerge of those soon. More to come as it's available!

Capcom Unveils a Real Bionic Arm from Japan

100°
294w ago - Capcom USA has unveiled their delivery of a real Bionic Arm from Japan. Check it out below, modeled by Capcom's resident babe Marisol.

To quote: Today, we got the Bionic Arm. It came in a crate with some mysterious Japanese writing (probably a warning of the pure awesome inside), and a dead give-a-way in english as it says "Bionic Arm" in big letters.

Marisol was kind enough to strap on this prop for some pics to show off how cool this thing is. It would have been cooler if I could have found the button for the lights. But there's no obvious switch on there that says "lights."

Instead I spent a good five minutes pressing things that looked like they could be buttons while it was sitting on my desk(I was guarding it from the droolers). As I was looking, I realized just how much detail went into this piece of equipment.

Every rivet, bolt, screw, the hosing... It's all hand painted down to the most minute detail. The arm is an exact match to the arm you'll be using when you pick up Bionic Commando.

Xbox.com Maintenance, NXE Tomorrow with Capcom Branding!

50°
296w ago - Per Microsoft's Major Nelson (linked above): Xbox.com and the Xbox forums will be offline for maintenance on Tuesday, November 18th from 12:01am PT until 4:00am PT to prepare for the New Xbox Experience launch on Wednesday the 19th.

This does NOT affect Xbox LIVE, which will remain available during this time.

Additionally, similar as was done for the PlayStation 3 recently, Microsoft will give Capcom its own "branded destination experience" tomorrow, to coincide with the launch of New Xbox Experience.

The hub will serve as a sort of one-stop shop for all things Street Fighter. Related add-ons and content, as well information on upcoming releases, will be accessible from one single destination.

Capcom Developer Interview on Resident Evil 5

100°
296w ago - Below is a recent interview with the very friendly Ben LeRougtel of Capcom, who enthusiatically answered some questions on Resident Evil 5 courtesy of XCN.

XCN: What makes a classic Resident Evil game?

BL: It's fear and tension. If you look at some of the enemies you encounter in Resident Evil games they're always grotesque and you're not sure what they're made up of - sometimes they're part human, sometimes they're complete abominations of nature. But Resident Evil 5 has moved away from that survival horror tag that was there in the beginning.

It has more of an action feel to it but still the tension is there and it's intensified with the addition of co-op. It's a very different experience - normally your Resident Evil mindset is "me, me, me!" and it's just about your survival. Now you've got to worry about someone else as well, and if the other person is only out for themselves it makes the game very hard to play.

The sections we've shown off so far haven't really touched on the co-op element of the game. You'll need to work together in order to survive.

XCN: But it's the same story whether you play alone with AI or with a live partner?

BL: Yeah, absolutely.

XCN:...
