25w ago - At this year's E3 Expo a company called Exeo Entertainment announced news of what they call the Extreme Gamer XG 10 Disc Changer for streaming video games on PS3, XBox 360 and the Nintendo Wii consoles.
Below are some additional details, to quote: "Physical media might lend itself well to the used games market (well, usually), but it does have a distinct disadvantage over digital purchases: you still have to get up and change that disc.
It's a minor annoyance, but apparently enough of one to spark the creation of the Exeo Entertainment Extreme Gamer XG 10, an Xbox 360 / PlayStation 3 compatible game jukebox with room for ten retail titles. Unlike other Xbox 360 disc changers, however, this one won't void your warranty.
According to Exeo Entertainment, the Extreme Gamer pipes disc data to the console through USB or ethernet ports. The operation sounds a little fishy, but Exeo Entertainment assured us the device is on the up and up - console makers allow it to function because the data is processed on the console itself.
It's a neat trick, but it does seem a little late, considering the stars of this year's E3. The company told us it's aware of this, and is already planning to build a next-gen...

28w ago - Following up on his previous updates, today PlayStation 3 homebrew developer SvenGDK has released XMBPC v0.9.2 followed by XMBPC v0.9.5 RC, v0.9.7.1, v0.9.8, v0.9.9, v1 and more which is a PC XMB (Xcross Media Bar) clone with the changelog below.
XMB is a cloned XMB interface that is on the PSP / PS3 main menu. This app mimics the XMB interface (not the system) for use on your PC. So you have the ability to manage all your Videos, Music, Pictures. Just as you would on those Sony Devices but now on a PC.
This even has support for using a PS3 Controller as well. The developer along the way has also added support for some Emulators / Games to launch directly from the XMB. Among many other additions to improve the handling of media on your PC threw this...
29w ago - Following up on their previous update, PlayStation 3 developers Estwald and D_Skywalk have updated the PS3 backup game manager known as Iris Manager to version 2.45 with the changes outlined below.
