PlayStation Home Resident Evil 5 Game Launching Event Coming

50°
280w ago - PlayStation Home Online Community Specialist Locust_Star made the following PlayStation Home RE5 announcement today via PS Blog:

We're sure you've checked out the awesome new Resident Evil 5 space, but in the event that you've been busy living under a rock (or dodging Helghast brass 24/7) there's no better time to log in to PlayStation Home and give the new space a spin than this Friday, March 13th.

Why? Cause this Friday is a ghoulish date sure to be made more deadly when you load up your brand new copy of Resident Evil 5, meet up with your fellow Home-boys and Home-girls in-world, launch into game, and start blasting the infected like it ain't no thang.

All you have to do is load Resident Evil 5 into your PlayStation 3 and then enter PlayStation Home. Once in-world, press Start > Game Launching > Set Up New Game > Resident Evil 5.

Remember, the maximum amount of players for any Resident Evil 5 campaign is two, so reserve a space for yourself and then go find a friend in the Resident Evil 5 game space to take the second slot. After you've done this, you'll be ready to descend into the waking nightmare that is Kijuju.

We'll be weaving in and out of the madness that is the Resident Evil 5 game space all day Friday, targeting you evil horde-slaying...

Rumor: GTA IV Episodic Content Coming to PlayStation 3

250°
280w ago - Coming hot off the heels of industry analyst Michael Patcher [Register or Login to view links] he believes the Lost and Damned DLC will sell 2 million on Xbox 360 and the next full GTA title will come out next year, PlayStation Insider has received an anonymous tip.

To quote: The tipster cites Microsoft and Take-Two Interactive's (parent company of GTA developer Rockstar) original press release about the episodic content claiming, it was carefully worded PR hyperbole, only confirming the episodic content would only be a downloadable exclusive, mentioning nothing of future retail releases.

The game will likely be released mid-year 2010 in the storm of hype Take-Two will be producing for it's next full release Grand Theft Auto title. It will come with at least the Lost and Damned episode available on Xbox Live right now, as well as the next episode, and will retail on a disc for around $40 on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The source also believes the second episode will be released on Xbox Live later this year, and we also have a very strong hunch we will see some more of the next episode by this summer.

While we have no other details, we will report them as soon as we have official information. Rockstar has yet...

New Strikers Coming to High Velocity Bowling for PS3

50°
281w ago - Today Brandon Akiaten of Team RamRod revealed some new strikers heading to High Velocity Bowling for PS3 as follows:

We're back and with a couple more characters for you to 'roll' with. I'm happy to present you all with Bruce 'Flyboy' Fitzpatrick and Carmen 'Sordida' Sanchez.

Both of these guys are available beginning TODAY and for just $0.99 each! Here's a little info on our new additions:

Bruce 'Flyboy' Fitzpatrick

Bruce is a flamboyant flight attendant from New York, New York who happens to be fantastic in the lane. He's definitely earned the nickname 'Flyboy' and has proven to have fabulous ball control. Though, his downfall is that he cares more about his precious manicure than pin action ... so it's nothing but light balls for him.

Carmen 'Sordida' Sanchez

Carmen is from San Ysidro, California, and with a chip on her shoulder, she has much to prove. She'll do anything to win even if it requires dirty tactics. Carmen refuses to wear bowling shoes and as a result, her form leaves a lot to be desired.

We hope you enjoy these two new additions to the High Velocity Bowling family! BUT, if that wasn't enough for you, keep checking back with us in a few weeks as we have more to 'spare'...

New FragFX v2 FPS Controller Coming to PlayStation 3

300°
281w ago - Digital Battle claims that a new controller dubbed the [Register or Login to view links] is coming to the PlayStation 3, one which better emulates the mouse-and-keyboard combination which PC users have long touted as superior to console controls when it comes to first-person shooters.

And as an aside, I'm not claiming them right or wrong, as it's really not my genre, so I can't really vouch either way.

To quote: A new peripheral for the PS3 is being released in ninety days that'll allow console gamers to achieve a slice of that pinpoint accuracy.

It's actually two controllers, and unfortunately for any lefties it's obviously designed only for right handed gamers as the buttons on the mouse are located on the left side for easy thumb access. The other controller is a bit like a Wiimote, with its own analog stick and d-pad.

I would definitely take this one with a grain of salt - the article claims it will be out in 90 days. Sure, we may very well see something in that time, but given the multiple delays I wouldn't hold my breath.

No Gravity: The Plague Of Mind Coming to PSN Tomorrow

250°
282w ago - Today Sebastien Rubens of the PlayStation Blog announced news that No Gravity: The Plague Of Mind is hitting PSN tomorrow. To quote:

No Gravity, a science-fiction space journey that goes beyond a simple space shooter, hit the headlines for the first time in 2007 as a "homebrew" game for the PSP. It was acclaimed as a game that "puts tons of retail games to shame with its incredible polish."

It was a long time ago, and since then, No Gravity has been entirely rewritten and improved to meet higher standards: this is the new version you will be able to download on the PlayStation Store tomorrow for your PSP.

You will be able to choose up to 5 spaceships (paired with pilots), each of them having different capabilities that you can use to your advantage across 31 different missions (each mission is composed of different sectors).

Some spaceships are faster which can help with time limited missions, or have more powerful weapons which help destroy bosses, or have better shields which can help sustain attacks from highly powerful weapons.

The most powerful two ships will be unlocked when you reach some specific goals. Note that you will be able to use any ship in the first person, but...
