Rumor: Music Downloads Coming to Sony's PlayStation Network?

100°
280w ago - CNET has an interesting PSP/PSN rumor that might interest all you music lovers out there.

The word from [Register or Login to view links] is that Sony has been talking to some big recording labels. This is of course about placing music on the PlayStation Network for download.

Apparently the pitched idea is focused on the PSP. This would make yet another great expansion to the PSN library. Add the rumored game rental service, the ever growing movies/TV shows library, and the talks about making PSN for other Sony products, this could get PSN to be a full fledged download hub from Sony.

Not a bad idea if you ask me. The focus on PSN will grow our reach, and will potentially cover the things we have been wanting for a long time. If this is Sony slowly trying to get digital distribution to us, they seem to be doing it the right way.

Don't get your hopes up though, this is all rumors. Now with that said, where is my cloud gaming?!

Fallout 3 DLC is Coming to Sony's PlayStation 3 Console in June

200°
280w ago - PlayStation 3 is set to receive existing Fallout 3 downloadable content beginning in June, with two new add-ons announced coming to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Bethesda has announced plans to bring Operation Anchorage, The Pitt and Broken Steel to PlayStation 3 over the coming months. These Fallout 3 add-ons were previously only available for Xbox 360 and PC.

Operation Anchorage will be released on PS3 in June, with the other content following four to six weeks apart. An update will be released for the PlayStation 3 version of the game to enable such content to work.

Meanwhile new content is coming for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Fallout 3. These are Point Lookout "Explore a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content" and Mothership Zeta "The aliens have returned, and they're pissed. Experience an alien abduction first hand and find out if you're tough enough to survive."

Point Lookout will be released on PC and Xbox 360 in June and follow on PlayStation 3 once the three other expansions have been released. The cost for the initial PC/X360 release will be 800 Microsoft points. Mothership Zeta will cost the same and will arrive on PC/X360 in July, again with a PS3 release once the other four pieces of content have appeared on the PlayStation Network.

Zombie Apocalypse Coming to Sony's PlayStation Network

250°
280w ago - Nihilistic Designer John Slavin has announced news that Zombie Apocalypse is hitting PSN today, as follows:

My name is John Slavin, one of [Register or Login to view links]'s game designers on Zombie Apocalypse, the downloadable title from Konami coming to the PlayStation Network next month.

I wanted to drop in and show some Zombie love to the PlayStation community and give you some previews to what you can expect to see!

So what is Zombie Apocalypse about?

Zombie Apocalypse is pure and gory wish fulfillment. We wanted to strip off the woes of increasingly complex modern mega-games, and retreat back into the world of dank arcades and late-night movie rentals that was our childhood in the 80's and 90's.

We knew multiplayer was a key feature in a game of this type, so we pushed hard to get four-player online co-op integrated from the start. With core values in place, we set out to fill that savage coffer with all the classic zombie lore we loved.

This was not a game in search of a hook, beyond perhaps one to skewer a zombie on. Our goal was to produce a pure arcade shooter, rooted in dual-stick classics such as [Register or Login to view links] and [Register or Login to view links]

Tony Hawk Ride Coming With Wii Skateboard Accessory

200°
280w ago - Can you handle another Wii-related peripheral in your house? With so many plastic guitars, drumsets, Wiimote cases, Wii Zapper holsters, fishing accessories, etc.

Of course, the peripheral industry is a thriving one, and Nintendo's choice to add motion sensitivity to its latest console has certainly made third-party suppliers happy.

The latest piece of must-have hardware to surface is the skateboard you see above, which will come packaged with Tony Hawk's latest title. It has been quite some time since Mr. Hawk was featured in a skateboard video game, and really, could you imagine a better comeback story than this?

Taking the Wii Fit premise to all new heights will be Tony Hawk Ride, a groundbreaking game scheduled to be fully revealed at E3 early next month. Oh, and the best part? Wii owners won't be the only ones enjoying this, as we're told that it will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well.

As you can likely imagine, Tony has been longing to create a peripheral-based skate title for awhile, but only now has the technology advanced enough to make it possible. Judging by the images alone, we'd say we're all in for quite a treat come early June.
