292w ago - An Insomniac Games employee, jstevenson, has written in the NeoGAF boards and confirmed that a Resistance 2 demo will be present during the Sony PlayStation day on May 6, a few days from now.
It is likely that impressions will leak out of the press-only event, and we'll make sure to post them when they appear.
To quote: We pull ourselves away from Grand Theft Auto IV long enough to record this 25th episode of the Full Moon Show. We bring you the latest info on Resistance 2 and our demo in Europe next week.
We also reveal more about our 8-player online co-op in our I Want Your Job interview with Jake Biegel. Former 1UP Network Editorial Director Dan "Shoe" Hsu joins us in the mystery guest segment, and we'll bring you the latest contest from Marcus. Plus Rolf's Rant and more!
292w ago - Last year at the Game Developers Conference, Nintendo's Takashi Aoyama introduced Nintendo's upcoming plans for a Pay & Play online service. Before you panic, let me note that Nintendo will be keeping the existing free Wi-Fi connect service it already offers.
But, some of the newer games that will be released may require a small fee to be played online. All of the games that will require a fee will have a red sticker placed on them so that they can be easily identified. I also feel that is important to note, that the online service will not affect any of the current Wii games that currently use online play.
A Nintendo representative had this to say while speaking to SPOnG, "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection offers simple, comfortable and free enjoyment of games played over an internet connection, Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Pay & Play offers paid for services whilst keeping the simple and comfortable elements we know people enjoy. Wi-Fi Connection Pay & Play allows for flexible adaptation to content and system costs and allows for even higher quality services."
Very little is known as to what kind of extra content the new service will offer. Currently, there is still no release date for the service. Nintendo representatives have been very tight lipped on the subject, right now about all we now is that...
292w ago - A report from Taiwanese news source Economic Daily News says that Pegatron Technology (a recently formed subsidiary of Asus that shouldn't be confused with the Decepticon leader) has received an order from Microsoft to manufacture a Blu-ray equipped model of the Xbox 360.
According to the report, Pegatron says that it plans to begin production on the HD version of the Xbox 360 soon, with plans to ship within the next six months, aiming for a pre-holiday release.
It won't be the first time we've heard talk about Microsoft gloming on to the format, as the DigiTimes recently pegged manufacturer Lite-On as a Xbox 360 Blu-ray drive maker and Sony executives hinted that its competitor was feeling Blu to the Financial Times.
MS CEO Steve Ballmer recently went on record about the move away from HD-DVD, saying the company will "support Blu-ray in ways that make sense."
Microsoft PR, of course, continues to beat the digital distribution drum and deny the existence of a BRD playing 360. We would of course be shocked to learn that something slipped from the airtight walls of Microsoft early, so we're sticking with unconfirmed rumor at this point.
The EDN report also mentions that a price cut for the Core (Arcade) version of the 360 is planned, but doesn't provide further...
292w ago - Kyle Schubel, senior producer at SCEA, has revealed that there will be a LittleBigPlanet closed BETA this summer. Schlubed confirmed that the game will "1 to 4 Players on 1 to 4 PS3s" which means "up to 4 player online and offline."
Schubel also said the game should see a full release in September or October.
To quote: Schubel confirmed the excellent multiplayer support - the game will support 1 to 4 players on 1 to 4 PS3s. That means up to 4 player online and offline. On the DLC side, there will be capacity for 1 million user-created levels on a planet, and the number of planets can be expanded.
And to filter through the inevitable mediocre (read: rubbish) levels, you'll be able to search by popularity, upload date, what your friends have been playing, other levels created by a user and ratings. Video below!

We had loads of questions for Dylan and team, so we're splitting this interview into two parts. Featured below are my top five burning questions for Dylan, and be sure to check back next week when SCE Associate Producer Matt Morton delivers the goods on the remaining five.
1. (Deb) How did you decide on the name for the expansion pack? Personally, you know we liked "PixelJunk Monsters: The Lost Island" or "PixelJunk Monsters: The Others"...we're huge fans of the TV show Lost over here.
