Afrika for PlayStation 3 is Finally Coming to North America

250°
277w ago - Natsume announced today that they are bringing the PS3 title Afrika to North America this fall finally.

To quote: Developed by Rhino Studios, Afrika is a photography simulator with adventure elements.

Boasting licenses from Sony and National Geographic (to name a few), Afrika places you in the vast African wilderness as you attempt to capture images of the various animals and plants with your trusty camera.

Afrika is divided into several different modes, though all of them revolve around the "one with nature" design theme. The Safari mode is divvied into three parts: the Safari Game, the Photo Gallery and the Big Game Trophy mode. The GEO Afrika section of the game is also split into three segments: the Afrika Field Guide, the National Geographic Library and the Afrika Viewer.

The Safari Game is the bread and butter of the Afrika experience. In it, you'll choose between a male or female photographer and set up a large tent in the African wild, which serves as your base of operations. Here, you can sort through your various cameras and lenses, study maps of the surrounding environments and check your PC for email and more.

Emails are the key to accepting missions in Afrika, and missions are the primary gameplay component of the experience. You'll be tasked with pursing...

278w ago - Eidos has announced on their [Register or Login to view links] that an update is coming to Tomb Raider Underworld for the PlayStation 3.

Next Thursday, May 28, the game will be patched to add support for PS3 Trophies.

To quote: "Sorry for the delay and thank you very much to those who were able to wait patiently," said the Eidos rep.

"It's really appreciated and I hope you get some great Raiding out of it."

Tomb Raider Underworld just barely missed the January deadline for mandatory Trophies. Even six months after the release, it's better late than never.

Maybe this will inspire some Trophy hunters to raid some tombs.

Rumor: Music Downloads Coming to Sony's PlayStation Network?

100°
278w ago - CNET has an interesting PSP/PSN rumor that might interest all you music lovers out there.

The word from [Register or Login to view links] is that Sony has been talking to some big recording labels. This is of course about placing music on the PlayStation Network for download.

Apparently the pitched idea is focused on the PSP. This would make yet another great expansion to the PSN library. Add the rumored game rental service, the ever growing movies/TV shows library, and the talks about making PSN for other Sony products, this could get PSN to be a full fledged download hub from Sony.

Not a bad idea if you ask me. The focus on PSN will grow our reach, and will potentially cover the things we have been wanting for a long time. If this is Sony slowly trying to get digital distribution to us, they seem to be doing it the right way.

Don't get your hopes up though, this is all rumors. Now with that said, where is my cloud gaming?!

278w ago - PlayStation 3 is set to receive existing Fallout 3 downloadable content beginning in June, with two new add-ons announced coming to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Bethesda has announced plans to bring Operation Anchorage, The Pitt and Broken Steel to PlayStation 3 over the coming months. These Fallout 3 add-ons were previously only available for Xbox 360 and PC.

Operation Anchorage will be released on PS3 in June, with the other content following four to six weeks apart. An update will be released for the PlayStation 3 version of the game to enable such content to work.

Meanwhile new content is coming for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Fallout 3. These are Point Lookout "Explore a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content" and Mothership Zeta "The aliens have returned, and they're pissed. Experience an alien abduction first hand and find out if you're tough enough to survive."

Point Lookout will be released on PC and Xbox 360 in June and follow on PlayStation 3 once the three other expansions have been released. The cost for the initial PC/X360 release will be 800 Microsoft points. Mothership Zeta will cost the same and will arrive on PC/X360 in July, again with a PS3 release once the other four pieces of content have appeared on the PlayStation Network.
