Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! is Coming to Sony's PSP

277w ago - Today PR/Marketing Coordinator Nao Zook of NIS America, Inc. shared the following news via PlayStation Blog:

Hello everyone, my name is Nao Zook from [Register or Login to view links]. Today, we are very excited to announce our upcoming PSP title!

It's called "Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! What Did I Do To Deserve This?" Now, I know the title is super long. In fact, it just might be the longest, and craziest, title in videogame history! But actually, we at NISA are pretty happy with this name.

So anyway, you must be wondering what this game is all about.

"Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman!" is a strategy game with an RPG feel to it. You play as the God of Destruction, and you must save Badman, the underground overlord from various heroes. Badman is helpless and whiny, but once in a while he finds the cajones to question your actions. Sounds like Badman is a real pain in the butt, huh? But he's also got some hilarious lines, so we're sure you'll have fun with him.

Now, in the actual game you appear as a pickaxe. Okay, we know, it's just a pickaxe. But you're the friggin' God of Destruction! It's your duty to crush all these pesky heroes invading YOUR underground turf! In order to defeat them, you just dig and dig and...

PSP 2 Coming Pre-Christmas, Will be an iPhone Beater

300°
277w ago - Whether it's labelled the PSP 4000 or the PSP 2, there's been a lot of rumor recently about an imminent successor to Sony's handheld console.

There's also been a lot of talk about how Sony might react to the competition on offer from the phenomenal success of Apple's iPhone and iPod touch.

Unsurprisingly the console manufacturer has been comparatively mute in both cases, denying the existence of a PSP sequel and any threat from Apple.

However, having spoken to an insider source - who's not Dave Perry, but is a developer working on the new hardware - we can reveal that the new handheld will arrive before Christmas and will be far more similar to the iPhone than the current device.

Like Apple's newcomer, the PSP 2 will be a compact device with a large touchscreen. However, where Sony's machine has the edge is when the touchscreen is slid open as it reveals familiar buttons, D-pads and - praise the Lord of Handhelds - dual analogue controls.

This new format should allow for both existing hardcore console titles as well as simpler touchscreen games along the lines of those currently available in the App Store. And like the App Store, (and in the absence of UMD), the games will all be available for digital download via the PlayStation Store.

Although...

277w ago - Capcom Product Marketing Manager Colin Ferris shared some details on the upcoming Monster Hunter PSP title as follows:

The upcoming release of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is exciting to everyone involved in the title. For those who don't know, Monster Hunter puts you on the hunt for a variety of majestic beasts that you have to defeat in order to become the ultimate hunter.

With thousands of different types of weapons and armor, as well as over 500 hours of gameplay, this is the most engrossing action/RPG title for the PSP ever created.

What really makes the game shine, however, is the excellent multiplayer that makes use of the PSP's built-in Ad-hoc multiplayer.

Join with three of your friends to hunt monsters that you simply couldn't defeat on your own. Playing the game with friends is truly the best way to play it, and with the PSP's network abilities, everyone has their own screen to play on.

Though we've had an awesome group of core fans in the US, our goal is to let everyone experience the adventure with Monster Hunter this time around. To introduce you all to the world of Monster Hunter, we've put together this "newscast" with our intrepid reporter covering the imminent onslaught of monsters...

Worms is Coming to Sony's PlayStation Network, New Screens

300°
277w ago - Any of you who have been listening to our podcasts know that we LOVE the Worms game. And with the recent announcement that there will be a Worms for the iPhone, we're more than happy to hear about the upcoming PSN version for the European Store, as PlayStation owners have been missing out on this classic game of turn based strategy.

Just because you've missed out on all of the Worms action in the past, doesn't mean they've simply ported the XBLA Worms over to the PSN.

No sir, this is a fully expanded and honed edition that features additional retro-styled landscapes, a wide-r variety of team voices, additional graphic features and effects, much more responsive physics engine, 1080p support and four additional weapons including the much loved Holy Hand Grenade, Super Sheep and Concrete Donkey.

Check out the new screen-shots below (more linked above) and get your worms ready for battle!
