243w ago - SCEA's Santa Monica Studio Associate Producer Mike Graham has announced that Gravity Crash is coming to PlayStation Network today, as follows:

Earlier this year at E3, we had the opportunity to introduce everyone to a brand-new old-school arcade style shooter, Gravity Crash.

Well, I'm here to let you know that Gravity Crash will be available on PlayStation Store today for $9.99!

Just to give you a little background info, Gravity Crash combines vintage arcade shooter gameplay with striking HD vector graphics running in 1080p at 60 frames per second.

Piloting a small craft armed with an arsenal of main and special weapons, a rechargeable shield and a carefully watched fuel gauge, players battle gravity and inertia through 35 levels that each feature environmental dangers, enemies and other obstacles. Along the way, players will encounter volcanic eruptions, winding caverns and bodies of water in their pursuit to complete their mission.

But wait, there's more. You can create your own levels and share them with friends! Here to talk to you more about it is my colleague, Stewart Gilray, CEO of the development studio, [Register or Login to view links], to give you the low-down.

Hi everyone, how are you guys doing?

Video: Madden NFL Arcade for PS3 is Coming to PSN Today

243w ago - Today Madden NFL Arcade Designer Danny Doeberling has shared a video of Madden NFL Arcade for PS3 and revealed that it's now available via PSN.

To quote: The game is launching today on PSN, so let me fill you on some details to get you excited.

[Register or Login to view links] is a fast-paced 5-on-5 football game with depth for both casual and hardcore fans alike. We tried to make the game accessible by simplifying the playcall and giving users a pared-down arcade specific control style.

We feel that we've created an opportunity to pull off some big moves on the gridiron with more ease than ever before in a Madden game. Gone are the special teams, with a major focus on big hits and big plays. Our traditional Madden fans will feel right at home as we kept the traditional well-polished Madden football engine, and allowed for the user to have the option of the standard PS3 control scheme they are accustomed to.

What really sets the game apart though is the Game Changers that are distributed during the course of the play. And there are some off-the-wall ones too: decoy passing, frozen players, extra downs...why not? Don't think you can score? Use the entourage and your entire offensive line shows up as a convoy to the end zone.

Sony Officially Launches the PlayStation 2 in Brazil Today

650°
244w ago - Hard to believe after Sony's PlayStation 2 console just turned nine years old it would finally hit Brazil, eh?

That is exactly what Sony did today, according to Kotaku (linked above), the PS2 has officially launched in Brazil.

To quote: "It's priced at R$799, which works out to be around USD$465. So, yes, it's expensive to buy video games in Brazil.

Our man Pedro tells us that with a nine year-old console only just launching, there obviously isn't an official PS3 presence, though he says Sony do sell some older PS3 games. For R$199 (USD$115).

Ever wanted to know why piracy was rife in South America, those prices might get you in the right direction."
