14w ago - Spry Fox CEO David Edery announced today that roguelike puzzle game Road Not Taken is coming to PS4 and PS Vita in 2014 alongside a video trailer below.
To quote: Hi folks! It's an honor to be posting here for the first time. I'm the co-founder of a studio called Spry Fox.
We've made some well-known mobile and PC games such as Steambirds, Triple Town, and Realm of the Mad God. I'm super excited to announce that our next title - an original puzzle game called Road Not Taken - will be launching on PS4 and PS Vita in early 2014!
Road Not Taken is a game about life's surprises, both positive and negative. In our take on Robert Frost's poem of the same name, you wander through a mysterious forest in the aftermath of a large snowstorm.
As you explore, you'll come across wild animals, impassable barriers, and lost children. Road Not Taken explores the question: "What happens when life's events throw you off the path you expected to take?" It's been a lot of fun for us to try and stretch the ideas that games can tackle!
In terms of gameplay, you can think of Road Not Taken as a puzzle roguelike.
You can play for dozens of hours, and no two sessions will ever be quite alike.
Each game is full of unexpected surprises and dangers,...
15w ago - Smart As Assistant Producer Nicolo Accordino shared a video today featuring Mark Cerny and Yusuke Watanabe talking Knack on PS4 below.
To quote: Having just announced the 29th November release date for PlayStation 4, you can imagine that it's a very exciting time at PlayStation.
Right now we're busy putting the final touches on Knack, including the drop-in/drop-out two-player local co-op mode announced last week at Gamescom.
The game is both fun and challenging to play, and is a blast to play with a second player controlling a robot version of Knack. Check out the brand new story trailer here if you haven't already.
Mark Cerny, lead system architect for the PlayStation 4, is also the creative director for Knack. And bringing Mark's vision to life are the talented artists and developers at Japan Studio, our big internal studio in Shinagawa, Tokyo.
Here is a new Conversations With Creators video, where both Mark Cerny and game producer Yusuke Watanabe talk about creating this next-gen character action game for PlayStation 4.
15w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman is here with a fresh video demonstrating Killzone: Shadow Fall PS4 Multiplayer hands-on with the PlayStation 4 console below.
To quote: Going hands-on with Killzone: Shadow Fall's multiplayer mode for the first time at Gamescom, I couldn't help but feel that Shadow Fall represents a sea change for the veteran shooter series.
The gameplay retains the series' signature weight and heft, so you never feel like you're ice-skating through the the meticulously detailed environments. But thanks to a host of refinements from Guerrilla Games, Shadow Fall is undeniably a faster, more fluid, and more satisfying Killzone. Call it Killzone reborn.
DualShock 4 plays a significant role here, with its massively upgraded ergonomics and shooter-friendly L2 and R2 triggers (though Shadow Fall will allow you to use the classic L1 and R1 as well, if you prefer).
After my play session, Game Director Steven ter Heide commented that the Shadow Fall no longer uses aim assist, making it a truer test of skill. And you'll never even notice that change, given the high responsiveness of DualShock 4's comfortable new analog sticks.

To quote: Hey, PlayStation fans. It's awesome to be at Gamescom this week.
For the first time ever, we're showing off live demos of Destiny at an event that's open to everyone! Since our new action game is more fun when it's experienced with other people, it makes all the sense in the world to welcome gamers to explore the frontier with us.
If you weren't able to make it to the convention, we have no intention of leaving you behind. This week, we're delving deeper into the details for how you'll become legend in Destiny. This video helps us tell that story.
Check out the adventure that awaits you in our brave new world. Create a character. Defeat your enemies. Complete your missions to earn sweet rewards that make your Guardian more and more dangerous. You'll need new ways to fight to tackle the story as it unfolds before you.
We'll be sharing more of Destiny in the months to come, but this is a chance to take another step toward this exciting experience that we're creating for PS3 and PS4. Thanks for watching!
16w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Justin Massongill posted up a video today from Gamescom 2013 showcasing Driveclub, dubbed the social network of racers below.
To quote: Guten tag from Gamescom! I hope you got a chance to see yesterday's press conference, where we saw a glut of new games announced (and finally found out when we can get our own PS4s!).
Sid and I are in Germany, tracking down new info for the latest games. Yesterday, I sat in on a presentation by Col Rodgers, the game director on PS4's upcoming launch exclusive, Driveclub.
He went into detail about Driveclub's social features, the PS Plus Edition of the game, and showed us how Remote Play on PS Vita works.
Rodgers described Driveclub as the "social network for racing games," and this is exemplified by the game's Challenge system. If you feel especially confident about a run on a certain track, with a certain car, even at a certain time of day, you can issue a challenge to your club, sending a notification to their PS4s or to their mobile phones (courtesy of the Driveclub Mobile app).
As they play and try to beat your challenge, they'll rack up points for the club.
Things get interesting when you elect to challenge your other friends, who might not be part of your club. If...
