To quote: So I'm making a sequel to my top down zombie shooter They Do Not Die. It is being made primarily for PS3 but there will also be a PC version and there may potentially be a Wii port of it later.

This is just a very early build of it but so far the game already features a truly massive procedurally generated city that is populated by human survivors and zombies that you can shoot.

One thing that I have working already that I'm really happy with is the fact that you (the player) are not treated special by the zombie AI. They will gladly ignore you if there is another human that is closer to them. There is something really cool about walking down a street and seeing people being herded by zombies.

There is collision detection that makes you bump into other people and prevents you from walking on water...

Avoidance v0.1 PS3 Homebrew Port is Now Released

163w ago - Following up on his previous PlayStation 3 homebrew game development, this weekend ThatOtherDev has released a PS3 port of Avoidance v0.1 from the Nintendo Wii and PC version.

To quote: Here is a really bad port of my Wii/PC game Avoidance. It still plays and renders at 640x480 and instead of forcing the screen resolution down to that or being stretched to fill the screen its just drawn in the center of the screen with black borders filling the unused space. So the higher your resolution the less of the screen is actually used.

If you are using a low resolution with component cables then part of the screen will flicker (I'm not completely sure why but it seems although double buffering is behaving differently then it does when using HDMI). Your score and high score are not displayed on screen and your high score is not saved.

Like I said, it is a really bad port but it is playable and I don't intend to spend any time trying to correct its flaws in the near future so I figured I would just post it as is.

From his site: New graphics for my latest console: PlayStation 3! Rules of the game are the same as other ports: frog can jump forward, left, right (not backward) and the goal is to jump over all the leaf of the level.

There are 10 levels, out of 100 random ones

Controls:

• Move the frog with arrow keys
• Restart level with Circle button

Scogger 0.1 for PS3 Changelog:

• First and last version
• New fantastic graphics in HD thanks to SpriteAttack!

Thanks to SDL library I ported the original game on PC in a breeze, then I started changing every single image, add some sort of animation and writing some sort of animation code, tweaking with frames, rewrite menu code, polishing the trash code... so I did 90% of the work PC side. Porting it over on PS3 was (almost) straightforward.

To quote: Today I am releasing a proof of concept POC version of DosBox that comes bundled with a shareware release called CD-MAN that autoloads (no keyboard or DOS know-how needed)!

What is this?
This is a ready-to-go preinstalled DOS shareware game.

Does this require DosBox to be installed on my PS3?
No, DosBox binaries/config-files are included

I already have DosBox installed, will this conflict with or overwrite it?
NO - THIS WILL NOT OVERWRITE DOSBOX!!! - IT CAN RUN SIDE-BY-SIDE WITHOUT ISSUES! This PKG installs to //dev_hdd0/game/CDMAN1234

Why do I have to press the right thumbstick before my controls will work?
This switches...
