New PS Vita Exploited Game MyStylist Runs VHBL on Firmware 3.15

100°
9w ago - Following up on the PS Vita 3.15 System Software Update, today Wololo announced that the new exploited game by 173210 to run VHBL on Firmware 3.15 is MyStylist with details and a preview video below.

To quote: We announced a few weeks ago that we would release a new port of VHBL to firmware 3.15. VHBL is a homebrew loader for the PS Vita. It lets you run fan-made games and emulators on your PS Vita. In order to run, VHBL needs an “exploit” which requires users to purchase a specific game on the PSN Store. For more details on VHBL, check our VHBL page.

Developer 173210, famous for having ported VHBL to several game exploits in the past, is back at it with a new exploit, and he is kind enough to share his port with us. The game is only available on the Japanese store, and is unfortunately not compatible with the VitaTV.

However, 173210 believes that the exploit in this game cannot easily be patched by Sony, making it a somewhat unique exploit on the vita scene. 173210 had previously released such exploits for the game Pawapuro, but circumstances were different, as that game had already been removed from the PSN before he had announced the exploit.

Jet Car Stunts on PS4, PS3, PS Vita Release Details, Pricing Revealed

50°
10w ago - Grip Games CEO Jakub Mikyska confirmed today that Jet Car Stunts is coming to PS4, PS3 and PS Vita alongside release details and pricing revealed below.

To quote: Hey! This is Jakub from Grip Games. Some time ago, I told you that we're bringing the popular racing franchise Jet Car Stunts to PS4, PS3 and PS Vita.

We can now share more information about the release dates, pricing, cross-buy and cross-play.

But first, have a look at the new trailer showing the game in all its insanity. You'll be flying in the air, racing on narrow tracks and using jets to reach supersonic speeds.

Jet Car Stunts is a hybrid between a racing game and a platformer. The tracks are devious, the pace is ruthless and your opponents are the best racers on PSN.

Jet Car Stunts will launch on PS3 and PS Vita in July, followed by the PS4 version in August. All three versions support cross-play, and the best players' ghosts and leaderboards transcend all three platforms.

The PS3 and Vita versions will offer cross-buy and will cost $7.99. The PS4 version will be significantly upgraded - offering better visuals and more track details, and running at 60fps and 1080p.

Anyone who purchased the...

Helldivers: Four-Player Carnage on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita

10w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements is here today spotlighting the four-player carnage in Helldivers on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita platforms below.

To quote: To quote: With a game of [Register or Login to view links] going, shouts, curses, and laughter are never far behind. Arrowhead's top-down shooter is coming to PS4, PS3, and PS Vita this Summer, bolstered by brutally difficult missions and gratifying multiplayer design.

This is a game about outfitting an elite squad, dropping into procedurally-generated battlefields, and fighting to survive. The high level of challenge and the "always-on" friendly fire make victory all the sweeter.

But at a PlayStation event last week, I had more time to watch groups of four players (including Arrowhead's own Designer Patrik Lasota) tackle the alien menace together. The results showcase just how smartly Helldivers has been put together, and how players must, must, work as a team.

For those that missed our original hands-on of Helldivers, the basics are easy to grasp for any passing fan of twin-stick shooters. Move with one stick, aim with the other. Each soldier in the squad had a default...

Video: The Randomized Fun of Nuclear Throne on PS4, PS3, PS Vita

11w ago - Vlambeer's Rami Ismail made available a video today spotlighting the Randomized Fun of Nuclear Throne on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita.

To quote: We've been working on Nuclear Throne for a long time. In the past few months, we've been working on the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita versions. It's still a few months out before we're ready to launch, but we're really excited about how things are coming along.

We noticed something interesting about the development process though, something we hadn't quite expected... Nuclear Throne is still a fun game to make.

That sounds like a bit of a ridiculous statement, but that's actually quite a rare occurrence. Game development is a passion occupation, something you do because you love it - but it isn't always fun.

We're almost a year into development, and we're in what is commonly accepted as the rough part of a development cycle: the production phase. It's the period of time in which the fun of coming up with new ideas has withered in favor of making things day in, day out, and the excitement of being almost done is still far-off in the distance.

Nuclear Throne is a top-down action game with procedurally generated levels. It's Hotline Miami meets Binding of Isaac. It's fast, difficult, and different every single time. It's pulp sci-fi made...

Video: Promote Real Music in BigFest on PlayStation Vita

50°
11w ago - Sony Associate Project Manager Nick Accordino invites PlayStation Vita fans to promote real music in BigFest on PS Vita in a video trailer below.

To quote: Revealed at Gamescom 2013 for PS Vita, BigFest is about building your own festival that will promote real, unsigned bands. Players will go on a journey with the bands with the goal of building their own thriving festival and becoming the most successful promoter in the world.

Do you have what it takes to discover the next big thing, and take them to the top of the charts?

Before you take a band to the top, you'll need to give them a platform, and that means building the best festival you can. Starting with a small stage in a field, it's up to the player to build their festival their way.

Choose the basics from shops and stalls to earn money and use that money to enhance your festival by installing the right speakers, lights and video screens, increasing the "vibe" as you go.

The levels themselves are run as Festival "Posters," with headliners and support acts. Some Posters will let you play whatever music you want while others will have specific needs to succeed. Visitors to a rock festival will have different needs to those at a dance...
