Sony Officially Launches PlayStation Channel on YouTube

(SCEA) has teamed up with YouTube™, the world's most popular online video community allowing millions of people to discover, watch and share originally created videos, to create a PLAYSTATION®-branded channel that delivers exclusive video content to the worldwide PlayStation community.

Press Release: Launching today, October 14, 2008, and available at www.youtube.com/playstation, the PlayStation channel on YouTube will offer fans a place where they can easily access new trailers and game footage, check out interviews with publishers and developers, share user-generated content, participate in PlayStation promotions and contests, and stay connected to the PlayStation experience.

More than 50 pieces of content will be available at launch, including features for SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation, MotorStorm™: Pacific Rift, NBA '09: The Inside, and the PlayStation®Network.

An evolving service, the PlayStation channel on YouTube will initially consist of a primary PlayStation channel with a regularly updated "Featured Video" and an embedded menu bar for specific games that takes users to a playlist page for additional video content. Life with PlayStation Officially Live and Available Now!

306w ago - I noticed this on PS3Fanboy and have tried on my EU PS3. After the updates folding at home is now called Life with PlayStation.

To quote: Life With PlayStation was leaked yesterday, but now it's officially available to download. Simply go to Network -> Folding@Home.

You'll be prompted to download two update files. Once you're done, Folding@Home will be replaced on your XMB with Life With PlayStation.

Don't worry -- you can still cure cancer. But now you'll be able to check the news, listen to music, and research the weather all from one app.

Nintendo Officially Announces Metallic Silver DS

The Metallic Silver DS Lite is hitting North American store shelves in a standalone package on September 7. Following its debut, the new color will be featured in a series of print ads with actress Liv Tyler.

Castlevania Judgment Officially Announced for Nintendo Wii

317w ago - Konami today announced that Castlevania Judgment, the first Castlevania title in the fighting game genre, is currently in development exclusively for Wii. Castlevania Judgment bridges the past with the present as it pits several generations of the Belmont clan against a host of characters that span the franchise's 22-year history.

"We wanted to take this addition to the signature Konami franchise in a direction that really sets it apart from the previous Castlevania titles in the series," said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami. "The Wii Remote and Nunchuk capabilities, along with the iconic characters, make this game the ideal entry point into the fighting game genre. This combination is certain to thrill old and new fans of the franchise. "

With 3D environments rendered on Wii, players can choose sides in an epic battle of good versus evil using iconic Castlevania characters designed by famed manga artist Takeshi Obata. Using the motion-sensing controls of the Nunchuk and Wii Remote, players can slash, stab and whip their way across a variety of stages and environmental elements with various surrounding objects as weapons.
