300°
218w ago - Sony's Social Media Senior Specialist Chris Morell has shared a Final Fantasy XIII PS3 interview today with Producer Yoshinori Kitase and Director Motomu Toriyama.

To quote: We're heading up to San Francisco later today to speak with Mr. Kitase and Mr. Toriyama, as well as FFXIII's Battle Director Yuji Abe for the first time.

So now's the time to get those final questions out there (That's Final Fantasy XIII only, so please keep your questions on that topic. They won't be discussing anything Versus- or Agito-related). We're almost exactly a month out from the game's release, after all!

I asked for your Final Fantasy XIII interview questions and you responded in earnest.

Thanks so much for your many questions – they were far too numerous for me to ask them all, but I hope you agree that I covered all the important ones with the game's Producer, Yoshinori Kitase, and Director, Motomu Toriyama. Can you believe it's only four weeks until the game is in our hands? It's been a long wait, but we're almost...

Submit Your Final Fantasy XIII PS3 Interview Questions to Sony

300°
221w ago - Today SCEE Social Media Manager Jem Alexander has announced that Sony is seeking your Final Fantasy XIII PS3 interview questions, which can be submitted via the link above on the European PlayStation Blog.

To quote: I still have to pinch myself to test that I'm not dreaming, but it only results in my arms being covered in bruises. Which means just one thing: Final Fantasy XIII really is releasing in less than two months time.

Okay, two things: Final Fantasy XIII really is releasing in less than two months and I need to cut my nails.

Luckily the wait will be slightly less painful for me because later today I'll be seeing the English version of Final Fantasy XIII in action and asking some questions to the game's producer, Yoshinori Kitase, and director, Motomu Toriyama. I can't bring you guys along and let you play the game with me (even though I'd love to!), but I can get your questions answered.

So make sure you fill up the comments section with your most burning questions and I'll pick the best ones tonight to ask to the guys behind the game.

Unfortunately it looks like I'm not going to get this one video'd, but at least this means you'll get your hands on the answers sooner.

PTOM Interview: PSN Boss Talks Voice Chat & Firmware Updates

500°
231w ago - During a recent interview with PlayStation: The Official Magazine (PTOM) in the Holiday '09 issue, PSN Director Eric Lempel discusses how Firmware update features are planned and released for the PlayStation 3 and PSP consoles and touches on cross-game voice chat.

To quote: "We go about doing that in a few different ways. We do consumer research in addition to following our roadmap.

We've had a very long roadmap that we've wanted to roll out, and clearly all of them couldn't be rolled out day one when the PS3 launched. So we've been implementing these features as we go along and some of them, and some of them take longer than others."

Lempel continued: "Of course time and manpower always factor in because there aren't limitless resources. And are sometimes key features that must go out in Firmware updates. For example, you saw on September 1, we released a 120GB PS3 and we did a Firmware update, and there were some enhancements in that specifically to bring on the new hardware."

The director of the PlayStation Network further explained: "We absolutely read all the feedback that we see on our blog when we do firmware updates. We have people who look across different forums and different sites. And we also do our own testing - some very extensive testing.."

Video: TGS Interview - Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll for PS3

50°
237w ago - Sony's Social Media Senior Specialist Chris Morell has shared a new video from this year's Tokyo Game Show, with the focus Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll for PS3 from Koei.

If you don't know much about the series, here's a primer from from Jem Alexander, to quote:

"While at the Tecmo Koei booth we got a chance to chat to Akihiro Suzuki, the Director of Koei's upcoming PS3 exclusive action RPG, Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll.

It's the latest in the Zill O'll series, but you'd be forgiven for not knowing that – the previous games never made it outside of Japan. It's a pretty popular series over there and now it's coming to both the US and Europe, so we'll be able to see what all the fuss is about when it releases next year.

It's a prequel to the Zill O'll series, so story-wise it promises to be very accessible. In terms of gameplay it's also a departure from the norm for the series, as it leaves its turn-based RPG roots behind and embraces a more action-orientated approach."
