In a recent interview with JeuxOnline he explained as follows, to quote:

"We understand the wrath of players and developers are sorry because they did everything they could to have a simultaneous release date, but unfortunately they have encountered many technical problems on the development of the game for PS3. We strive to release the game as soon as possible.

If possible, we would publish the game sooner, we would like to start as soon as possible the beta on PS3."

199w ago - Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein shared an interview with senior vice president of software development Hiromichi Tanaka on Final Fantasy XIV for PlayStation 3 from E3 2010 today, as follows:

After a short break, our E3 coverage continues now with Final Fantasy XIV.

A new trailer was shown at our E3 press conference, which we've included below. After that, our Jaffa Cake-eating colleague dropped by the Square Enix booth for a quick chat on the console-exclusive PS3 edition of this MMORPG.

So I was just passing through the Square Enix booth at E3 and I noticed a door slightly ajar. I can never resist a slightly ajar door so I poked my head in to find Hiromichi Tanaka, senior vice president of software development, sitting down for a Final Fantasy XIV round table interview. There was a spare seat so I sat down, whistling behind a newspaper, and asked a few questions of my own.

To quote: "The lawsuit, filed on June 2, 2010 by Daniel Wolf of San Diego, Calif., alleges Final Fantasy XIII has caused 'severe and widespread damage' to Sony PS3 gaming systems since its release on March 9, 2010.

The lawsuit states that, for many consumers playing Final Fantasy XIII, has 'caused their PS3 consoles to freeze and become totally and permanently inoperable.'

Wolf said he purchased a copy of Final Fantasy XIII the day it was released, and when attempting to save his game, his PS3 became unresponsive and would no longer play any other media after restarting it.
